How would that fit? It would be ghetto rigged to hell because the screw go in a different location plus the intake manifold cover is exposed in th 04-06 where the plastic piece covers the one on the TLS. And it would be lame as balls if it says 3.5 VTEC on a base TL

Item you would like fitment verified: I'm to lazy to search right now since I'm leaving to work very soon... and I thought I'd take the opportunity to abuse this. What kind of brake combo will work on my TL? This is for all 4.... I'm looking to perhaps increase the size of my brakes. What would fit... what would you recommend and what would still allow me to use rims such as say.... BBS RS-GTs in 18x18.5

all tsx bbk's fit the tl as confirmed by UA6SPEC (brembo gt bbk) & ACCURATEIN (project mu bbk)

there are soooooo many options you have
step tech bbk (see the blackmarket for more details)
rotora bbk (see the blackmarket for more details)
brembo gran turismo bbk
project mu bbk
soon you will have wilwood
and you can even install the type s factory brembo bbk

there are also rotor upgrades available for some of the bbk's

hope this helps, I know I missed some details here and there but if you require more info pm me

FYI.... if you have a 6MT or Type S and wish to upgrade your brakes, you might need the knuckle from the 5AT to fit certain kits.

the Rotora Kit comes with adapter/brackets for either 6MT or 5AT's... i dont know if other branded BBKs do that (stoptech, endless, project mu, etc..etc...)

well, if you wanted to put base 5AT calipers on your type-s/6mt, you would need new knuckles..... i dont know about all these aftermarket kits, but i do know the rotora includes an adapter for 6MT brembos so you can upgrade to the Rotora... i dont know about other brands

If he wants better upgrade to 2piece racing brake fronts, and 1 piece racinbrake rears... No need for a rear bbk (that's just for show) this is fwd

Let's keep the thread on topic, save the discussions please (I am a very joking person) but I want to keep this thread for people who want me to research for them

it was a universal plug... intended for someone asking about a color related part, they would receive the part # pertaining to the color... IE... someone wants to know if the type s rear lip fits there car, I would reply with a yes and a part # for that lip

Gotcha.

Do you give out specs for parts, too? Just kidding, I'll do my own research...but this whole thread should prove helpful for people.

I got it in the bag, if I can't find the answer, then it must be a first attempt at fitting it... hehehe

RacingHart03 can attest to this fact, he was wondering if a certain catback for the 04-06 tl would bolt up to the type s... I gave him the because there is no fitment problem at all

Thanx Al.

As for the cutting, is that for 04-06 base bumper, i know the 07-08 base is a bit different. This cut dimenssions, are to amplify the exhaust cut out that already exist or to hack off the bottom half of the bumpers how i have seen some people do,

I got one and you already know the specs of my car so...

Can I get a type-S rear A-Spec lip so I can do a quad setup on my car? If so, where can I get one and for how much? Don't want to spend too much because I will then have to get it painted to AM.

Looking to get a spare set of rims from a buddy with an "extra" car - late-90's Legend. Any idea if Acura used a bunch of different sized wheels/tires or are they all pretty much the same?

Great idea for a thread.

Brian's Wendy's comment was pretty damn good...

Model: 2005 Acura TL 5AT

Will a type-s catback fit without any modification besides cutting up the stock 05 bumper or getting a TL-S bumper?

Oh and also, I just got

19x8.5 +42 all around Inspyres from a guy and put them on my car with Tein Basics.

If I slam it to the ground--to the max--will there be ANY rubbing? Ron "made them" specifically for the TL to expel rubbing issues.....

Tires are 245/35/19

I've seen an acura legend rolling around numerous occasions on the 04-06 wheels, 17x8 +45, not sure on the tires he was running, but they did stick-out passed the fenders but it looked good

so I will believe the bolt pattern is identical... as long as it is an 8" wide wheel with a +45 offset or less

Once you have the tl type s bumper or rear aspec skirt it will bolt up no problem, with no clearance issues, no hanger modifications required

even with a 255 series tire you will not rub... me I'd put 245 series tires with a 5mm spacer
