OBD Code P2135
OBD Code P2135
Yesterday evening my 2005 TL MT (205k miles) lost power and the check engine and VSA lights came on. I could not get the rpm much over 2000 in gear, and had just enough power to limp home. The car was also idling roughly at about 1500 rpm.
Engine error code was "P2135 throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A/B Voltage Correlation".
This morning I bought a new Accelerator Pedal Position Switch (and EGR valve just in case), and gave the car a quick run before starting. It ran fine, and had full power! I reset the error code, and it didn't come back.
Now I am torn between replacing the APP switch and hoping it was a temporary issue.
Any thoughts?

Update: The problem had not gone away. The car would go into limp mode every few hours of driving. Turning the car off and restarting temporarily fixed it. I replaced the APP sensor two weeks ago (Intermotor brand) and everything was fine until the problem came back 2 days ago, same error code.
Any thoughts? Bad sensor? Something else I should check?

The code says both APP and TPS, and every posting on this site recommends replacing the APP first. I did find a troubleshooting post for this (https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...please-936940/)
csmeance,
Thanks! Late update: I read through that and given intermittent nature of the issue, the cause might be a dirty electrical connection. I cleaned the electrical connections as best I could with CRC and a q-tip, and the problem has not come back since July.

Exact same thing happened to my 04 TL AT few years ago. Don't remember the code, but found the throttle body sensor/module ? Had my guy install a new one, part was about $100. Still going strong. You can search for the thread I found/used here. Cheers
