Nokya DRLs

So I just ordered these DRLs 9005 HB3 Nokya Arctic White light Bulb Stage II 7000k and then noticed that it's 100watts.

Type: 9005 / HB3
Sold As: 2 Bulbs
Wattage(input): 100
Wattage(output): 120
Color: Arctic White
Color Temp: 7000K ( Stage II )

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

would there be an issue with that? The fogs are only 35watts so it seems like its too high. thoughts?

Upon further research in the manual it lists the DRLs as 60w... would 100 affect the electrical or does this just mean output brightness is lower?

Just say no to daytime running lights. If people can't see a 4,000 lb moving machine during the day, they don't deserve to be driving. (/soapbox)

100 watt is very high. They could burn your harness or headlight lens.

The oem drl bulbs are rated 65W... The goal is to go lower in W to increase illumination and avoid harness damage.

Sorry, can't help on this one. Fog's I've done, but nada with DRL's.

I am still hoping someone will find an LED DRL for the '07/'08, but I haven't seen any succes reported yet.

The reason for this is that the DRL circuit doesn't provide full power (volts, watts, amps, whatever) to the bulb. The result: Any "white" bulb will be a pissed out yellow.

It's hard to know what bulbs will do at the lower DRL voltage without testing it out. DO NOT do 100W bulbs with the normal 12V input though!! They are known to melt headlights, connectors and wiring. They are meant only for large aftermarket driving light housings that can handle the heat and power requirements. You can do up to 70 watts with a relay wired in. Stick to 55 watts to be safe, you will not see as much improvement as you'd think beyond that. But because these DRLs are being driven at low voltage maybe 70 watts won't hurt?

If you REALLY want a marked improvement over what you have, nothing beats HIDs. But as mentioned it is not going to work with your DRL wiring because of the low voltage......THERE IS a way around it to supply 12V if you really are interested.

If that's the case then maybe I won't do this mod afterall. I just don't like how it's yellow lighting on my white car. The fogs I don't like either with the HIDs being bright white then you have yellow fogs...

Since they don't run at "full power" would a higher rated bulb just run lower as well, in a range that wouldn't fry the wiring? Since the DRLs are rated at 65w, would that mean they actually run at lower wattage instead?

I guess I need some first-hand opinions.

100 watts too much..you will be drawing almost twice as much current, which will lead to wires failure..

i also changed ddl and my fog lights on my rdx, fog lights looks great after i changed it with this: eBay Motors: XTEC OF JAPAN H11 SUPER WHITE LIGHT BULBS HEADLIGHTS (item 310097035203 end time Dec-31-08 22:36:11 PST)

Its only 55 watts and it looks the same as my HID lowbeam,,, I would not suggest changing DDL(high beam) coz it will just look yellow unless you turn on your high beam.

i have 80 watt Nokya hyper yellow for my drl's with heavy duty wire adapters so it won't melt your stock drl's wires. Had mine on for almost a year without the wires or headlight lens melting. I suggest you put on heavy duty wire adapters before putting those 100 watt bulbs in or else you might have problems later. Here's a site or you can go look for it on ebay...http://www.racinglab.com/headbulwirha.html

I just got the Nokya 9005 100W bulbs and will get the harness before install. The DRLs are hard to get to also because I tried changing them before...

I also got the Nokya H8 Fogs and installed those, looks great. Will post pics once night comes.

In a TL, we have bi-xenon headlights. And fog light size is H8. DRLs are 9005

HIDs are a pretty complicated mod that I don't feel like doing, yet at least.

i agree with ABP; the HID kit is a real easy PNP mod, Cheap, and 100X better. i just upgrade the 4300K to 8000k beams and they look great. still waiting for my accord fogs to come and then ima upgrade to 8000k as well.

The search function isn't working, any info on this HID mod? Is it a new bulb? or a new light entirely? or what? and is this DRL, fog, or both you are talking about?

yeh changing your fogs to hid isn't really that hard it's pretty much plug and play. The only sucky part is finding a mounting spot for the ballast, mine happens to be a fat ass one. Nowadays they have some made in a slim version that works from 35 to 55 watts. I got 6500k headlights and 3000k on fogs can't go wrong with that!!!

When you say plug and play, do you mean putting in a new bulb? it can't be any easier than that... which is what i did, i put in a 7000K bulb.

i kno exactly wat u mean... i still havent seen a real 3000k hid kit, they all go to white color or greenish white, then throw yellow at the ground...

the best thing to do is, get a 6000k hid kit and get a yellow tint for the fogs, and BANG pure yellow
