My Nokyas are 7000k... but they aren't HID??? Personally I'd rather have that white appearance than the blinding light.

these bulbs we have, has a tint in it...
No they are not HIDs (High Intensity Discharge)

compare to HIDs which is a gas, except sum of the 3000k which those have sum type of color on the bulb itself, from wat ive seen

Ok an update on my DRL mod:

I got the Luminics Heavy Duty Wire Harness and installed that plus the Nokya Arctic White 7000k 9005 for the DRLs (in the newer TLs, the DRLs are where the fogs used to be). I installed one light and tested it, works great, looks great. When off it gives the housing a cool bluish tint and when on it's white but not as strong light as yellow is.

Here's the problem though. When I installed the second light, tried testing, nothing worked. And the DRL warning light comes on in the dash. The other problem though is it's getting dark outside and so the DRLs won't come on automatically (can you turn those on manually somehow?). I will need to test it more in the morning.

I'm thinking the problem could be that it's rated at 100W and therefore is not working when both lights are installed. Someone in this thread noted they have 80W bulbs and a harness and it works though. Is there a way to lower the wattage?

I tried again this morning, same issue. It's raining so I will have to solve it another day but any thoughts on what else it could be? I really hope it's just a faulty wire or bulb.

Yes BINGO, those pics are on the money, that is what I was talking about too. I am looking for bulbs like that too!! I know a long time ago they seemed easier to find. The latest bulbs out seem to be white throwing off yellow, why??

I've got an ASM. I just wanted the fog lights to be as bright as the headlights. This should do the trick.

Steven, let us know how your install went. Also, I don't believe your comment above is accurate. I want my fogs to match the color of my HIDS but also be as bright (or should I say give off as much light) as the stock fogs. I belive the Arctic Cats 7000k will match the color of the HIDS but WILL NOT give us as much light. Is there a simple plug in bulb that will?

Cecil..you are right. First, the install went great. Thanks to Buda-I went to his house and we installed them fast. Second, the 7000k's are nice and bright, but they don't seem to be quite as bright as the HID's. I wanted my foglights to look as bright as my HID's when turned on for the evening. The stock foglights looked "off" to me when they were on. But the 7000k's are much better. Mine are 55 watts, and they're not as bright as the actual HID's, but they look really good. Maybe a higher wattage bulb would be brighter, but I like what the way these look. It's a definate improvement from the stock bulbs.

I'll take some pictures tonight and post, if possible.

So I did more testing on my Nokya DRLs and determined that it's the higher 100W that's the issue. Using one bulb at a time on either left or right side works. So it's not problems with the wires, bulbs, fuses, etc. This stinks because I initially couldn't find any 9005 bulbs in the right wattage and color I wanted.

Steven Bell, I can't wait to see what yours looks like!

Brand New Luminics Ultra White Halogen Bulbs

Type: 9005 / HB3
Sold As: 2 Bulbs
Wattage(input): 65

Wattage(output): 140

Color: Ultra White

Color Temp: 5150K

These are lower in wattage, 65 input, but the output is still 140. Would this still work you think?

So i can run nokya hyper yellow 65w bulbs safely for my DRLs? I have a 07 TL-s. I'm having a hard time finding a straight answer. I know LEDs will look better but I just want to try yellow bulbs for now.

^^ Same question: except I have a Canadian 2006 TL. I have DRLs and the module stock, as per Transport Canada regs.

In theory, I ought to be able to take ought my stock bulbs are replace them with a Nokya Hyper Yellow or Arctic White, provided they are 55/60W bulbs? Plug and play, no harnesses, no fuss, no muss?

Yea I saw that I'm just curious where he found that info. I pulled my drl and to my knowledge its still the stock bulb (Im the second owner) and it says 60w. I just want to make sure @ 65ws no damage will occur. In post #12 he says that up to 70w would be used, but with a relay wire. Does that mean I'm safe without a relay wire at 65w? Sorry if the questions overlap I just want to be 100% sure before I proceed.

Why not just go with the 55W version?

I accidentally already bought the 65w bulbs. If there wasn't much cause for concern I would just keep them. But seeing how there isn't a clear cut answer I think I may just send them back once they arrive.

On a side note, I can't seem to locate the nokya hyper yellows in 55w or 60w 9005s damnit!

Just looked at nokyas website... They only make a 65w for the 9005 plug... Is there a bulb that other people have been using instead? I'm not sure how they are using a 55w??

has anyone tried HOEN fog lights? I did not see 9005 listed but they do have 9006. Since my 04 TL doesnt have DRL, I plan on using these in the fog lamps. They supposedly have a real yellow look.

Their 9006 bulb is a 55w, and is used on 04-06s.

specs fall within range so no worry about frying your wires, but how is the color? Anybody have hoens in their car now, just wondering if it is true yellow or piss yellow?

Yep I have bought Nokya yellow's before and never had any problems before.........Until.......I installed Nokya's 3000k on my girls car. Looked good for 7 minutes then we smelt a burning smell pulled over one of the lights were out. Inspected it and found it burnt thru the harness. All the Nokya bulbs says 55w=100 watts but its all bullshit. Its marketing but this pair of bulbs is hit or miss. I have tested TONS of lighting for the drl on the TL and I must say that the best one is LED it will always look the best take almost no power up and best color output.

Yea i agree about the LEDs being the best, I'm just not sure if I'll like the yellow for the DRL so I want to buy and use a simple bulb for a while. I emailed Nokya to see what they say about their 65w hyper yellow working for my 07 TLs and whether or not it would cause damage to the wiring/harness. Everything Ive seen while searching has said to use a 55/60w but nokya doesn't make that wattage for the 9005 so I'm clueless to where they go the bulbs from.

And correct me if I'm wrong the 3000k bulb is a HID bulb. Without the proper wiring problems would definitely occur.

"3000k" is the color temperature and does not mean it's an HID bulb.

Yea I knew that but I've noticed many bulbs don't advertise above a certain output without the wattage going up or it being marked as "HID". Oh well whatever.

I bought a pair of Nokya 9006s at 2500k temp as fall back bulbs if my Xentec crap HID fogs take a dump. Even with a relay they flicker like a candle (not on and off, just the beam twitches which is a common problem). Got the kit for 30 bucks..

Im going to get these and try them out with my DRL's.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOKYA-9005-H...item3a68144dac

I just hope running the 65w wont burn through my harness/headlamp. Do you guys think these will work fine? I know a lot of you guys recommend just going with true HID's but hopefully these are suitable for now.
