Newbie looking to buy

I’m looking at purchasing my first Acura. I was truck shopping when the dealer pointed me towards a TL. I took it for a test drive and I couldn’t believe how nice it drive. We are at about 24,500 and I’m wondering if that’s a good price.

It’s white, with the beige interior, nav system, 31,000 miles …pretty much loaded.

I’m not a big fan of white, but this car looks hot in white.

Should I wait for my color? Is this a deal too good to pass up.

ALL input is appreciated.

What year is it? I would imagine you can get it for a little less than that, but 24,500 isn't a bad price for 31K miles w/nav. The white is a pretty good color - quite a few people here have it.

Smile 2006?

Pretty good price for a 2006. Any older, reduce price accordingly.

It's a 2004. The white is growing on me. I'm not crazy about the beighe interior though. Also, it;s a stick. Any pro's and con's related to the stick? It seems like most of the cars on this message board are automatics.

for an '04 (the 1st yr), I wouldn't pay that much...I'd pay somewhere around 23,500-25,000 for it, depending on how much you want to bargain.

NADA
KBB

The NADA price for your car is considering the next-to-best quality, while the KBB is the car in excellent condition (which I doubt it's in - 95% of cars w/more than 1K miles aren't, IMO)

Oh, and as far as stick vs auto, most of the guys that got stick live in areas that allow for easy manual driving (not a ton of traffic) or they take their cars to the track quite a bit. Personally, I live in Houston, so an auto is the only way to go, but I driving my mom's S2000 when we're up visiting her in Tyler.

there are a few others...just take a look at the matching between the bumper covers & metal parts & do it in a couple different kinds of light.

Good information. Thanks! It's funny, I did notice the color difference between the rear bumper and the body. Maybe I'm so excited about this car that I'm ignoring the problems, but I think this is something I can live with.

The first thing I'll do is have the windows tinted. Then get some chrome on the front lower air ducts.

Thanks again!

i previously owned a 05 honda civic ex-se. the bumper on the car has a slightly different color than the rest of the car-never in an accident. I think you will find that in alot of the hondas-acuras. It does not mean they were in accidents, they came that way. It is because it is a different material than the rest of the car-plastic bumpers. I have manual transmission which I love.

Do you think the manual transmission will make it difficult to sell?

Yes, as a manual trans in a TL will definitely cut down the number of avaiable buyers.

The price isn't bad, if an Acura dealer is selling the car as it should be Certified, and then you would receive additional warranty until 7 years 100,000 miles, although modified, plus other benefits free of charge. The warranty is transferable, so check the Acura website for Certified vehicles in your area, and the Certified warranty description from Acura.

Most all whites have bumpers that are shaded differently when delivered from the factory. I know ours is off just slightly, but just the nature of the beast, and the results of poor engineering by Acura.
