New TL Owner

Wednesday I picked up a 2004 TL 6MT (single owner, no accidents) with 75K miles for $13,000.

Over the weekend I removed the clutch slave cylinder damper, installed a braided stainless clutch line, installed a set of Hybrid Racing shifter bushings, and changed the plugs.

Also discovered that the motor mounts were shot, and have ordered a set of XLR8 mounts which should be delivered in a few days.

Future plans include:

Mud flap removal
CT short shifter
Tint
A-Spec suspension
A-Spec body kit
RJV6 J-pipe

I've never owned a V6 with a manual, and it's been a long time since I have had a sedan. Previous cars were a RSX Type-S, Integra GS-R, and a Prelude...Overall, I'm quite pleased with the power and am enjoying the smoothness and quietness, especially as compared to the RSX/Integra...Also was surprised at the handling. I really didn't expect it to handle so decently for a somewhat heavy sedan.

Unfortunately, I have not driven it since the mod (waiting on a replacement positive battery cable). I'll post up my impressions once I get it back on the road (probably by this weekend).

Yeah, I know. In the past, when waiting till 100K miles I have had plugs take a real liking to aluminum heads..Better safe than sorry..

Finally got a chance to drive it last night. I was surprised at the difference in the clutch response. How much of this is due to fresh fluid, the braided stainless clutch line or the damper removal, I cannot say, but the clutch feels more responsive than my old RSX Type-S. In fact, clutch engagement is so immediate that I nearly stalled it the first two or three times I started to take off. Takes a bit of getting used to, but removing the damper did achieve what I hoped it would.
