New Comptech Springs Put On...Not Very Happy.

So I ordered the new springs about a week and a half ago through my parts dept. (I work at a dealer) They came in a couple days ago and I finally had them put on today.

They were used!

As I was taking them out of the box, I noticed little nicks and grease marks all over them as well as no Spring rate tags on any of them. What the hell? I had my tech put them on anyway and now they are sitting VERY low compared to my friends 04 TL with the same springs. Also, my rear camber angle is much worse than his. What do I do? Is there a camber correction kit available yet? Can I use the one for the TSX since it's the same springs? Help!!!

They sound used to me. I'm not sure I would have put them on in the first place. There are camber kits available, though Comptech (and many satisfied Comptech spring users) go without.

I'm with Edward, where did your parts dept. get them from?

I wonder if they just took a return and used those instead. I would speak with the Parts and Service managers and demand that they get you new springs and have them re-installed.

I have the same problem with excessive rear camber tilt after Comptech springs were installed. I had called SPC Performance for a kit recommendation and they gave me a part number. I ordered it online the same day from this site's sponsor. After they arrived I set about installing them and found out that the tie rod studs were too loose in the mounting hole. Not a snug fit (life's a bitch eh?) I then contacted SPC and advised them of the situation complete with pictures and measurements. I was told that they were looking into it and as soon as they get it right, I would be rewarded with the right parts.

If the camber kit for the TSX came from Comptech or SPC, the answer is no. I had a TSX before the TL and I removed the camber kit before selling it with the intention of using on the TL. Well it turns out the tie rod stud is also too skinny for the mounting hole and now that kit is on ebay if anyone is interested. Tell a friend.

I bought used CT springs for my Type S and I had the same problem -- it sat way too low and the camber was whack. The car drove like absolute crap -- i got rid of them immediately.

I forgot to mention that each of the springs has a slightly different spring rate, making the fact that they were unmarked all the more disconcerting. Each spring is meant for a different corner, isn't it?

Correct NEURONBOB, their should have been tags to direct which corner to place them. That`s what mine had. Those sound like they might not even be for the right car, who knows?. The handleling I get out of these springs are great. What dealer ordered them?

By the way, no problems with camber either. Had the camber kit, but wasn`t needed
