New ATF dw-1 fluid (fixes issue)

i thought i share with you all guys, i searched here on azine and found nothing on the new fluid. I have never flushed my fluid since i bought my car, so i decided to get it done.

I was so use to the lag from park to drive or drive to reverse and the long seconds lag its gone!!!!....no it goes in to the gears with no wait time.....

For whoever wants to try the new fluid, go ahead because it worked for me.

??? i have some lag from drive/reverse to park....i alrdy switched to redline type F and that seemed to help slightly? it helped a lot with shifting gears while driving though. but the lag from Park to Drive is still a bit there. Im doing the 3rd and 4th gear switches when it arrives(ordered alrdy)

To the op, how does it shift, do you feel the shifts also known as shift lunge?

I have been happy with the DW-1 as well. I did a full 3x3 and my car shifts are quick and snappy. However, I still have the delay when shifting from R to D.

I was wondering if they go rid of that Z1 crap! I saw this at the parts store and was thinking about doing a 1x3 in my 2003 accord to see if it makes any difference... maybe ill have to get on that this weekend!

So it's not the fluid that fixes it. I'll stick with Redline or Amsoil. Still need to get mine done! My pressure switches keep eye'in me to install them

I vote we add a poll to this thread if there should be an entrance exam and age requirement to post on Azine.

The increase of shifts is just because you did a 3x3. Soon enough you will get it back because the new fluid still contains a lot of FM compared to Redline or Amsoil ATF.

Glad to hear of some positive news about the new trans fluid, hopefully we can hear some more positive reviews.

Also, we are not "haters". We simply state the obvious of someone using an obnoxious font color. It's bordering on the equivalent of typing in all caps. Would you give your resume to a future employer using that font and color combination?

What about the dozens and dozens of people that have been using it for 10s of thousands of miles?

And the numerous TLs with terrible shudder issues that were cured?

I dont think this person was trying to start an arguement she/he was just sharing what they found, i am happy he/she did because i am going to use it in my accord.
Now i use Redline Type F in my S/C TL with no slipping or anything even close to it, in fact it feels like it shifts a lot better then it did with that crap Z1 fluid.
I say lay off about the font, if you cant read it maybe you need to get your eyes checked.

He might not be wanting to start an argument but he posted the above and has yet to back up the statement.

I think I know what he's talking about. There were a few people that put Redline ATF in and were having problems. They later stated it wasn't the fault of the ATF. I can't remember the exact problem, but I do remember that it wasn't Redline causing the slipping.

OP- I could care less if your font is that color...its the actual font style that makes it a bitch to read.

I just don't want new users to read that and think badly about the Redline Type F. Use search, do your research and read about it. It's worked wonders for many, many people. I use it myself.

For the op that used the dw1 fluid, is there a reason why you choose this over Redline? And everyone, just because dw1 works for him that's fine, he doesnt have to switch to redline if he's fine with it.

Totally agree. Everyone is free to use whichever fluid they are comfortable with. However, I don't think it's right to go making statements that something is causing an issue if it is unfounded. 6 months ago I may have read such a statement and took it as fact.

Just put some DW1 in yesterday, just did a 1x3. Will do another 2x3 next week with my oil. I got to say it feels a little smoother on shifts. I never really paid any mind to the lag so i can say anything about that.
