Trans flush w/ cooler lines method??

Is this how it supposed to be done? I googled and found this so not sure if it would work the same way for Acura.

- Remove both ends off the cooler
- place one end in a bucket (old fluid)
- Place other end in FRESH ATF (8 quarts or so)
- Start Car in neutral
- Run until most fresh ATF has run through system or sooner if fluid
appears clean (cherry red).
- replace lines on cooler
- top off with ATF and test drive.

Is there any DIY thread with pictures on here? I'd love to do this since it's both safe for Acura transmission and not have to do 10x10 d&f to get most of the old fluid out... Any input is appreciated!!!

I'm not sure if the 08 has a cooler. I know the Type S does.

look on the front right hand side of your radiator. if you have one, that's where it'll be.

One side of the cooler is pressure and one is not. The hose that's not pressure is not suction. You can stick it in a fresh bucket of oil but it's not going to do anything.

The correct way is to do a drain and refill but don't start the engine. Stick the cooler hose in an empty bucket. Start the engine and fill while the engine is running through the usual fill hole on top of the trans.

Sorry but a bit confused here.. you said the correct way is not to start the engine.. but then later on said start the engine?
Plus, if it's that simple, why so many people are doing the 3x3 it gonna takes 10x10 to replace as much old fluid as 1 tranny cooler flush
