New 06'....but it's Used
All Comments are welcome. I've either stumbled on the deal of a lifetime or I'm a chump. I haven't committed yet so you all tell me what to do.
I want an 06 BDP/Qz 5AT/NAV, they don't have that. would have to be ordered; 33600
They DO have an '06 Ant/Eb 5AT/NAV with tray, guards, locks, and mats.
The car has 900 miles on it, they are selling it as USED (with remaining warranty) and offered it for 31700. It's not a demo, it's an uncommon story, but given the celebrities in town and their propensities, the story has been independantly verified.
Ebony was NOT on my list of must-haves, but should I be $2000 dollars worth of picky just for my color combo?
Do you think I can get it any lower or add a few more accessories?
They also matched my new car financing on the used car.
I drove it home-50 miles and it checks out fine.
Help! I might just own my first TL tomorrow.

I am very curious to hear the story behind this one...
Here in Texas the financing has to go through before they register the vehicle (so they can properly document the lein holder). If it doesn't go through the car is still considered new since it was never registered to anyone. You can have a new car that has a few thousand miles on it (demos are considered as such). So this thing was bought and brought back.
I would Carfax it to be sure it wasn't damaged in transit, wrecked by the 1st owner, a hurricane or flood vehicle. (in some states they don't have to declare these conditions although good business practices would dicatate otherwise.) The reason I suggest this is to make darn sure it wasn't sold at an auction.
If all checks good...you got yourself a pretty nice deal. Before you take delivery of the car I'd work them for a rear spoiler at least.
Just protect yourself...too good of a good deal in the auto industry has been known to backfire later.
Good Luck...Z

If I complete it today, I'll relate the story behind it. Don't wanna say to much while I'm still holding my hand ;-)
The Sticker is in the owner's manual "pouch" and it was purchased 11/9/05 from the dealership I'm buying it from. There really isn't anything funny that I can find. My only concern is the guy who owned it ragged it out for that critical 800 miles, but then again some people say to drive a car from day one like your gonna drive it and believe my mid-life crisis butt....I'm gonna drive it.
Does anyone know if you can tell visually if it's been driven hard for the last month?

I would definitely go with that deal. $2000 for less than 1000 miles is WELL worth it. Almost a year's worth of depreciation has already hit a car. This situation is ideal. Also, I do like the color combo a lot more (but that is personal opinion, of course). I would try to get another couple hundred for the heck of it though. Don't be worried about the first 900 miles.
GO FOR IT!!!
GO FOR IT!!!
Do it.... 900 miles is a joke to an Acura.... seriously, take the deal... but make sure you look over the car and have them fix any paint scratches or dings in the wheels.... dont let them not fix anything.. it should look BRAND NEW when you drive it off the lot.... GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I would not buy it..... it has to be CRAP....
Just tell me where it is when you finally come to your senses and buy that NEW one with the color you WANT>>>>>>
Also, they can title a car in Texas and the financing fall through... I bought my Formula 350 as a repo... it was sold to a woman for less than a month because of bad financing.. then some guy bought it and could not keep up the payments... I got it with less than 12 months and 15,000 miles for $7,000 off.... greatest deal I ever had...

Bought it...verbally, anyway. I'm doing the paperwork and picking up my old car Saturday.
Once it's in my (and the bank's name) I'll relate the whole story.
I like the color combination much better than I thought I would...matches my garage quite nicely.
Now, anybody know where I can take a class on how to use everything? It will take me 6 months to read the owner's "briefcase."
later.

It could have been in accident the day it was bought. Have the car lifted at a shop and check under the car to see if anything appears like it was replaced. Pop the hood and look and see if the plastics have any scratches, usually a sign they were removed for work to be done on the car, remove one or two of the plastic covers and check for paint overspray which would be a sign the car was in an accident. You probably won't find anything in carfax, it's not always reported. The car is probably fine, but if you find anything you can use it to bring the price down more.
Completed the deal today I am now an official owner of one of these sweet rides.
There was nothing wrong with the car.
A very prominent (rich) business man in the area is infamous for buying new cars every few weeks. This was just such a car. I was scared he was buying them to rag 'em out, but because this is a common thing for him and most car dealers in the area are familiar with him by now, he takes great care of the vehicles. He loves the 'game' of buying a car, and he apparently uses this "hobby" as some sort of tax shelter.
Anyway, good for him and great for me
Thanks to all ya'll for the advice. I've only been this satisfied with an automobile purchase one other time--on an '89 Prelude Si 4WS--a car that I bought new and kept for 10 years and 175K miles. I hope I get that kind of life out of this one.
Now, anyone got a list of essential mods for new TL owners? My first two are tint and fuzzy dice.
gotta go, gotta drive.
