Need to replace the throttle position sensor but not sure of which parts to replace

My 2006 TL developed a weird stumbling issue upon throttle tip in. Car was drivable for a few weeks. I eventually got a CEL with a P0174 (System too lean bank 2) and a P2138 (Throttle/pedal position. Sensor/switch D/E voltage. Correlation). Car required a huge amount of throttle input for the engine to rev, so I limped it back home. Shutting off the engine temporarily "resolved" the issue, so it's much more drivable, yet still not fixed.

My understanding is that the throttle position sensor is likely bad. However, do I replace just this part: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15405356371...3ABFBMvIbb2ZJg

Or do I replace it along with the throttle cable?https://www.ebay.com/itm/12397423129...3ABFBMuobb2ZJg

I prefer cheaper and simpler versus more expensive and more complicated, although the more expensive route is not even remotely outrageous. Just want to get this thing fixed and on the road ASAP without this turning into a two plus day affair.

FYI, spark plugs and coil packs were replaced about 20,000 miles ago.

Thanks!

Don't even touch that ebay part! Fake Honda packing straight away is visible.

Here is the info on what you need to do:

No big deal, though. Only two bolts hold the sensor to the bracket. Turn the bracket over after removing the bolts that hold it on. Then remove the two bolts holding the sensor on and the pieces will come out individually.

This is the sensor before and after replacement.

Attachment 54586
Flip the sensor assembly over and remove the two 10mm bolts (the recessed ones) that hold the sensor to the bracket.

Attachment 54587
Loosen the nut holding the cable to the APP sensor. I adjusted the jam nut after I installed mine, so I wasn't worried about where the nuts were.

Attachment 54588
And this is the bracket after removal. Just set it aside after removing the sensor from it.

Place the bracket back behind the strut brace and bolt the sensor back on. Then bolt the whole assembly to the brace and firewall. I adjusted the slack out of the cable and tightened the jam nut.

See my other post for results.
This is the correct part:

3-4 options depending on budget. NTK is OEM/factory part.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate all of that detailed information, especially steering me away from that eBay part. Neither AutoZone nor Advanced Auto Parts had the throttle position sensor, so I started looking online.

If I can get it from Rock Auto, do you think that quality is acceptable?

Correction: meant to write Standard Auto, not Rock Auto.

Doesn't matter anyway since our Standard Auto location is closed today. Looks like this project will have to wait until next weekend.

I vouch for rockauto. They might even send you a refrigerator magnet with a KBP on it!

Thanks! Yep, I've been around long enough to know that their offerings are usually of decent enough quality.

I don't know, sorry.

I installed the new throttle position sensor, and all is well. It was incredibly easy and didn't take much time. Maybe two hours since I had never done it before and since I took my time. I ended up dropping a bolt and had to jack up the car and remove a wheel to find it. Sucked up 30 minutes.

However, the issues seemed to correct itself prior to replacing the TPS. Maybe it was a bad batch of gas?
