Throttle Body Replaced

Any idea why it goes? Was replaced under emissions warranty for free. I'm at 52,000 miles. Guess it won't need replacing for a while.

Its a pretty low wear item, not sure why it would go bad. Maybe a sensor went bad that was inside it, and they didnt sell it separate?

TB's don't go bad. ...Unless they crack or get damaged some how.

It was probably a sensor that's welded on and won't be replaced separately at the dealership.

service bulletin V-1-05 issued on jan. 12th 2005 :
throttle plate angle and stopper modified to eliminate the chances of carbon buildup causing the plate to be harder on first pedal press on a cold start or clapping after a wide open throttle.

replace throttle body under base warranty(3y 40m)

Why did the dealer replace it? What problem were you having?

That sounds more like an IAC valve, either bad or dirty. It is a replacable part on the TB. If you got a new TB & it works, great for you, but I doubt it needed to be replaced.

I've been having that problem. Too bad I'm way out of warranty.

I don't know. They checked it and said it needed replacing. Problem solved so I guess it was that.
