I have a 2005 tl and im trying to make an appoinment this week for tint but i dont know what i want. I know i want 30% all around just dont know if i wanna go darker on back window. Does anyone have any 30% side and 15% back window?

 

first of all what state do you live in?
and do you want the tint legal?

 

Tint laws vary from state to state. If you don't mind extra police "attention" then you could go as dark as you want. If you want legal window tint you should check your local tint laws. Here is a link to do so www.tintcenter.com/laws

 

yea im in VA i know the tint laws but i just want it darker then that

as far as the back darker vs the sides, i would prefer the same all the way around

and as far as how dark, i would say the 15% again all the way around (which is what i have, and i use to have 30% all the way around), you can still see out quite well, while still being on the darker side (also what color is you interior, tan,gray, or black [i have a tan interior, so my tint seems light then somebody's which has the same percentage tint, but a gray interior]; cause the darker color interiors will make the tint seem darker from the outside, which may raise the chance of you getting pulled over)

 

15% all the way around looks siiiiiiiiick.

 

If you live anywhere near fairfax or have to go through fairfax, you might to stick with the tint law. VA-50% front two windows, 35% back windows.

 

I've got 50/35 which is legal for my state. I've got a black car with black interior so it doesn't really have an obvious two tone look. I wish I'd have gone 35/20. I think if cops see a "two tone" tint and it's not crazy dark they just assume it's legal. Good luck deciding, I think this is one of the toughest decisions to make on a car. There's no pulling it off and reselling it if you don't like it or the bacon patrol gives you trouble.

 

Cops are defenitely more prone to pull you over without the two-tone tint. But living in NOVA I can attest to the extra attention factor making me get legal tints. Make sure you get the felt(moleskin) for your TL! we need it for our year or else more chances of scratches.

 

Do not do 30 and 15 like you plan on doing it. It will look very off.. the back will look very dark and not good aesthetically. The best way to do it is do 35 on the sides and 20 in the back or do 15 all around. I did it your way and then asked him to rip the sides off and tint it 15's as well because I couldnt stand the way it looked.
