Im not so sure about the this model TL electrical systems but why dont you disconnect the negetive from the battery while the car is running. If the car shuts off after you disconnect the negetive then its the charging system. But after you disconnect the negetive and the car is still running it just a dead battery. This is the quickist and sure way to see if your charging system is working correctly.

Went to Acura this morning.

Pulled up at the service dept. at 9:05, walked in and told them the story and told them the car was running outside and I would appreciate them fixing the problem as soon as possible, as I would be reading the paper and waiting. Guy immediately call a tech and they zoom the car right in.

25 minutes later, they have the car ready with new battery no charge(no pun intended). The guy says come back any time for a car wash as I see you are too busy right now. That is service

Thanks again everyone for chiming in. And for those miserable pointless people(darsom1), find a purpose other than coming into a thread where I was clearly stating I was having problem in what I thought was a light hearted, funny, playful way.

The battery on our 05 died right at the 2 yr mark. It's covered under warranty for 4 yrs, and was replaced by the dealer for free.

The replacement battery also has a 4 yr warranty from the date it was installed (suprised me I thought they would only give me the 2 yrs left on the original).

Hello all new here...

But the same thing happened to me. I recently purchased an '05 TL and I drove the car to work one day...walked out in the evening and it wouldn't start...I got a jump...during the weekend it worked well...and then Monday morning..it wouldn't start (also had a sulfur smell in the car on Sunday)...it had to be towed..and they replaced the battery (no charge) ..and has been workign well ever since...

Good luck.

Wow, I'm surprised that OEM Delco batteries are failing that fast. Quality nowadays must be in the dumps.

I had an original OEM battery last in my 96 Accord V6 for close to 6 years! My factory Acura battery has just died in my 03 TL-S with a lifespan of around 5 years. Plus, it gave me months of warning in advance that it was dying.
