My suspension got me pulled over

I was just pulled over... the cop comes up to the car and says do you know why I pulled you over and I say yes. He says yea that turn back there. (I took it just a wee bit too fast) He asks for my docs and then he says, be right back. He comes back and asks how old I am. I say thirty. He says I wasn't expecting that when I stopped you. He hands me my docs back, (no ticket) tells me to take it easy and starts to turn around. He then turned back and said car looks good by the way. I said thanks but was still wondering what age driver he was expecting...
Since I put this suspension kit in I just seem to want to take every turn there is... Its not my fault!

cop was probably looking to ticket someone my age... I used to get pulled over for BS when i lived in FL, not now in NYC - they have REAL problems to deal with... I go to Jersey pretty often - never gotten pulled and I'm a "sporty" driver... sporty being a euphamism for mildly aggressive lol.

Yea I debated whether to drop it into second or third gear. I chose second and put it to the floor. Had I dropped it in third it wouldn't have taken off so fast out of the turn and I probably wouldn't have gotten pulled. But what fun would that have been.

hey just a quick question if you don't mind. so i'm here contemplating whether or not i should get my car lowered with the a-spec suspension kit or the tein ss'. i guess my question to you is: do you love the kit that much? i worried about scraping out and the car being so damn low that i won't be able to go over speed bumps...blah blah w/e without scraping and damaging my car. what should i do? btw i probably shouldn't go to the dealership if i go with the tein ss' huh? HELP!!! thanks man!

If you are concerned about scraping you car then Aspec suspensions doesn't lower the car by much (< 1") and may be the best option for you. Although I am not sure by how much tein would lower the car. And yes, I love the ride after I installed them

Cops where I live pull people left and right. Luckily I ok (Knock On Wood).
I remember I used to have a Civic. I get pull over every month back then. The usual stuff....clear bumper lens...tinted window.....mod exhaust...side marker....foglight....the WORKS.

I like LAPD....they can careless.

i lowered by car 2/14 rear and 2 inches at the front and i love using, and maybe sometimes abusing, the suspension. cops around nyc never bothered me for taking a turn too hard or accelerating too quickly. ive only been nabbed when i was speeding and i guess i deserved it.

oh, lowerign the car 2inches can be a real bitch sometimes. going over the wrong holes gives u some really ugly noises. worth it in one sense but pain in the ass sometimes.

at least you didn't get ticketed for an improper start. AKA, being a led foot off a green light.

Yeah, since i grew this mustache without the goatie, and let the hair on the side of my head grow out a bit, cops let me go and people respect me more. Funny, you'll notice when the cop is younger than you, it tends to help a bit, especially when the car is in your name and you look like a decent fellow. I mean, cops are people too, and they like to have fun once in a while. They can identify with that kind of fun factor when driving.

I'm a little confused here. I though Tein SS was just the coilovers. Is it the whole suspension kit too? What if you had A-Spec suspension and wanted to lower the car with Tein SS, would you have to remove the A-Spec suspension and replace it?

Yes. The Tein ss replaces the struts and springs same as the aspec kit.

My question is to know the difference between Base, Sport and A-Spec. I know that the parts number are all different, and that the A-spec is stiffer. Reason why I opted for the Sport- One. Do you kuys notice a big difference

you should just stick with A-spec and get a oem kit.
