Dude, the G is def a fast and nice car but u cant say that the TL aspec looks okay compared to the g35. THe aspec kit def makes the car look hot. The g35 looks pretty damn plain. NOthing fancy...but thats my taste so the G is right for me. BTW the 05 G has 298 hp which is i believe 18 more than the 04 model.

TL aspec does look hot. Hell, I own one. Though compared to a G coupe with the aero kit, the TL just looks like a modded accord. Trust me I had both. If the next G coupe looks just as good then I will definitely buy one. My wife can keep the TL. I just hate that they no longer have brembo brakes and that they lowered the torque. That sucks.

yeah me too. But i returned the G35 when the facotry shipped the wrong color. Yes the TL looks modded bc thats what it is (asepc body kit) but that looks nice as hell. The g35 aero kit isnt much. But the spoiler is hot. They got me the metallic silver inst4ead of the black. Idiots

I don't know if you read my thread, I own a 04 TL, WDP 5AT modded. It has 34k miles on it, I am quite aware of how the interior is on this vehicle. The A-Spec kit does not make the car any faster, and in fact it is a total rip-off, considering how much you can get the body kit for and the rest of the parts. I had the A-Spec suspension on my vehicle, it's impressive, but it does not make the TL transform into a RWD or AWD beast, it's not supposed to do that. I would actually put the G35 coupe and the TL very close together. THey both are great values, the CL would of course be a better comparison, but if you look at the market, the same people are buying both cars, and most people look at both.My suspension had a malfunction with it, and now I have Tein S-tech springs. The body kit does look great on the TL. It just sounds as though you didn't realize where I was coming from. Read my first post, and thanks for your advice on the topic. Also, I will never need a car to pick up girls in San Diego, they are everywhere and without a doubt some of the most beautiful women in the country

Fo sure, man. Im just here to help out the zine members here. But no way is the aspec a "rip off". The rims and the suspension are well worth the money. I guess acura is overpricing on the body kits but other than that, its def worth it. No the aspec does not make the car faster much on a roll, but the tires and the suspension def help with the launching. The stats do not lie... But my point here is that the TL is a terrible car to compare with the g35 bc u are comparing a coupe vs a sedan. A g35x and a Tl is a good comparison. When i almost bought a g35c, i compared it with the s2k and the 350z. Seriously, most ppyl here have different tastes and most arent ur age. So the best thing for u to do is go drive the cars. Words should not dictate ur decison. Finally, its ur decison so choose the car that u like the best (after driving ). But if i were u (ur age) and where u live in, u want the g35 coupe. I would question the 19in rims bc those make the driving awful. May be u can get the 18in and the navi instead of the 19s. U gotta go black with them. Good luck and let me know what u decided. And also dont forget to post pics when u get ur new ride.

19s are pimpin but u will hate the way it drives. They are really bulky and bumpy. But its not like u are tracking the car or anything. BUt if are going to get an aftermarket set of rims, get 18s. Thye look better too. nice choice on the color

i will look into it, it will be a drivers car with some modifcations for performance, so 18's may be more practical

And the styling on both those cars is just horrendous, If you saw a picture of me, you would know I dont belong in an STI or EVO, as much as I love them. Everything I like to do to my cars is tasteful, and I would definently continue that with the G35.

THe interior is lacking without a doubt compared to the TL, and I would never put a screen in, or mess around with a system after owning the TL, stock audio set-ups can be done right, and the bose audio on the g35 should be enough for me. I have great speaker set-ups in my room and home theater. The thing about the interior, is that compared to the 350z or the s2k, I think the g35 has a great interior, compared to the TL, it doesnt
Good to see an independent rational thinker. Enjoy the G. Mom will let you drive the TL if you still feel the need I'm sure.

I'd probably go for a G35 coupe myself if I could change a few things:
Price after options
RWD (icy weather)
Room for friends - can't fault a coupe for lack of room, but this would force me to get the sedan, which I'm less fond of.

It's a sweet car though; my friend has one in black and it's a nice ride. It's just a shame the sedan doesn't have the same sharp styling.

BTW will you still be in the TV biz towards the end of summer? I'll be looking for a plasma late August/early September.

I will be selling the TV's for awhile, I just organized a deal with a couple Real Estate Brooker firms in Rancho Santa Fe and La Jolla in which the Brookers will get commission and/or heavily discounted plasmas, for referrals and for houses they sell. I just ordered around $19k worth of products, and they should arrive within the end of May. If anyone is interested I have two sets that aren't accounted for, and I can let them go for right above my cost, all you need to do is cover the shipping. Better deal than I'm even giving my friends right now, only thing is that you can't chose the plasma, you decide between what I have leftover from this deal.

If the interior was nicer, I had an inch or so more headroom, and it was fwd or awd, I would have one in my driveway. Alas...

i would go for the new 05

dont get 03, they have plenty of rattles plus the interior can't compare to the TLs. The 05s can

MP3 Playback too + full aluminum trim, much more luxurious than plain plastic

RWD sucks in WI. If I was in California, it would be a different case. Still wouldn't buy one because of the headroom and lackluster interior though. Really, it all depends on each individual's preference. What I or anyone else thinks here is really irrelevant; each person has to decide what things they like best and then buy the vehicle that best suits him. That's the beauty of dozens of makes and models.

i heared they got rid of the brembos for the 6 speed in 05, and although they added more hp, wont make sense to buy it knew, since there werent many changes?

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I consider the G35 a sports/luxury car, while the TL is more luxury/sport, with each car better in the first thing listed.

before buying my TL about a month ago, I was seriously thinking about getting the G35 coupe instead. the G35 is sportier and the stock exhaust sounds nice, but there's way too many around here in southern cali. at your age, it's important to impress the ladies, and they don't really get too impressed w/ the G35 anymore cuz they've already "been there, done that." However, not a lot of youngsters own a TL, and the interior of a TL (w/ Navi) impresses the ladies. And also, a G35 coupe doesn't have much room in the back...while a TL's backseat has plenty of room to handle your business. hahaha

haha well I have already done signifigant damage to the rear sets of my TL, and I'm pretty sure that I should repent for some of the things I have done in the car I share with my mother. But to be honest, I'm not really worried about not having a backseat, I just want something that looks great, drives awesome, and I can really push when I feel like it, or just relax and cruise. That's one of the reasons why I want to go tein flex/ w/ edfc, so that I can go from serious driving to cruising easily. I know their are alot, but I would differientiate my car immensely from the majority of the vehicles on the road. The TL is everywhere in So cal, and even my mom can tell the difference between a modified TL and a stock one. She doesnt like the body kit, makes it too low She doesnt enjoy the 1.5 inches the tein s-tech springs lowered us either, but for $109.99 she cant complain.

Not to be concieted, over bearing or just plain out of line, I think I have enough things going to not worry about needing the g35 or the tl to impress ladies. My friends on the other hand, need to be set in their place. I grew up with kids, who consist of the http://www.europrojektz.com/ group, and who have cars with over $20k in aftermarket parts on top of their S4's, m3's or amg's, it's difficult because of course they never had to work for anything on their vehicles, and my TL is the slouch of the group. I still beat up on the modified regular a4's though, all the time And I know the G35 isnt going to bring the m3 or s4 to it's knees, but it will make me happy knowing I earned it myself, and I know I will treat it better than how they treat their cars..

I know i just ranted, but that's the 3rd comment about impressing people in this thread, and I grew up in the most affluent part of the United States, w/ image being everything, and frankly im tired of it. Why I went to college in Salem, Oregon which even for a capital city, is extremelly more down to earth and in ways beat up than Rancho Santa Fe or San Diego. I just felt I needed to let you guys know where I'm coming from, because I could get an EVO put $10k into it, and beat everything my friends or kids around here will throw at me, but by trying to impress everyone, all I will do is get looked at as a kid with a riced out car, w/ no quality. Thing's will be said about the G35 surely, or the TL, but the thing is no matter what I purchase, trying to impress people in the city I live, just isnt going to happen. Your not going to be able to impress anyone with the type of money a 19 year old kid can put towards a vehicle, where the vehicles basically scream wealth at every turn. Just my into why I'm looking at a v6 coupe made by nissan with no intention on trying to impress anyone

Re-badging a G35 with Skyline emblems is not tasteful in any sense of the word. There's a re-badged G35 I see almost every day on campus and it just makes me sad. Aside from that, it's a beautiful car with everything I would do if I'd went with the G, but me fitting in a G35 coupe was a total joke. The TL is even a bit cramped, but it's workable. 6'7" = headroom issues

Whatever you decide, please, for the love of all that is good and pure (ie: not a re-badged g35), do not put skyline badges on your g35.

While they do share the same chassis and body, there's more to the skyline than the g: AWD, AWS(teering), more power, and perhaps most noticable, right hand drive. Yum.

There is no AWD G35/Skyline coupe. The Skyline 350GT is the same car as the Infiniti G35 coupe, mechanically wise.

The upcoming Skyline GT-R or Infiniti GT-R, whatever they name it, will have AWD, much more hp, better suspension to name a few things. Oh yeah, a bigger price tag too.

I had a 2004 G35 Coupe 6MT in Ivory Pearl about 2 weeks ago...but then, I traded it in for an 2005' TL...if you're wondering why, I had to give it up because my wife is pregnant now....need a sedan, if you know what I mean

My view:

TL Interior > G35 Coupe
TL Gas Mileage > G35 Coupe
TL Trunk Space > G35 Coupe

Everything else < G35 Coupe

Like you, I went with the TL because I have a wife/2 kids and needed a sedan.

But to comment on your Everything else < G35 Coupe quote, I don't completely agree.

While I love the overall shape and lines of the G35 coupe, I do not care for the face of it as much as the TL. I am not a big fan of stacked headlights (tall and thin). It reminds me of what Cadillac has done to the front of their cars. UGLY.

If they put TL style headlights on the front of that car, then yea... you would have just about the perfectly styled coupe.

Sun Hyper Voltage Grounding Kit
AEM CAI
Camber Kit for front and rear
19inch Wheels and Tires

Sooooooo a six speed doesn't belong in a TL, but all this stuff does????

What i meant is that, the TL is more of a luxury car, and it is fun to drive, and it does handle well. but i think the car is mainly for cruising, and a 6 speed just doesnt work well when trying to cruise in cali for me. for some the 6 speed is a necessity, on the tl it's something I wouldnt want to have.

Shit, If I was 19 and could afford a car like that, I wouldn't think twice. 19 single whats to think about? Get the G35 coup, drive the hell out of it while your young and then when you settle down and start a family get something more practical. Man, if I didn't have the two little ones I'd be all over that bad boy.

I have an 04.5' G35 Coupe and an 05' TL. I'm paying about $500 more per year to insure the TL than the G35 Coupe. (Even the 03' TL-P we traded in was about $350 more per year than the G35)

What things did you love about it? I did like the seats overall, but I couldn't bear to look at the dash every day.
