MY 02 CL-S A/T vs 04 Grand Prix GTP Comp G

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raced my CL-S a/t(stock at the time) against a lightly modded 04 Grand Prix GTP Comp G. It had exhaust and a ram air hood that looked pretty mean.

I beat him in 4th gear(should have been in 3rd) from about 75mph-110mph. Heres the thread I started on Grandprixforums.net for the details. Watch as they rip on foreign cars. They don't have any respect...except for like 2 guys

http://www.grandprixforums.net/f12/...ype-s-5232.html

Can't wait to run into this guy again now that I got my headers and I won't give him a break not down shifting.

Actually I just read the first page, and so far they seem like nice guys who know about their cars.

I had to edit my previous post and I couldn't add what I originally posted, so here it is:

The Comp G makes around 270HP or something like that, but you make 260, and weigh much less so the result seems on par with what I would have imagined. However, I'm surprised you pulled him in fourth gear.

yea...the first acura built in the US.

Check out the other kill stories on their forum. They diss a skyline, altima 3.5, and TL's. Never seen so much american pride on a forum where their car is far away from the typical american performance car...its a supercharged V6 four door FWD, not 2 door V8 RWD

Apparently we were both in bad gears. I was in the bottom/middle of fourth and he was in the bottom of 3rd.

BTW, I raced a Celica GT last night with a CAI...thought they had the same horsepower as the GTS, but omg that thing was slooooow. Put 3-4 lengths and didnt even get out of second...waste of gas

that makes more sense as I could not imagine 4th gear in our car to be that strong.

Celica GT uses Corolla's engine with slightly different tune I believe, and it makes 140hp stock.

still funny that I beat him in 4th cause they don't have triptronic. I would have left him standing still if I had my headers and was in 3rd

No doubt. One person on there was absolutely stupified that another member traded in his Z28 for a G35. He just couldn't understand it.....LOL.

Well in terms of speed a Z28 camero is much faster than the G35. As far as refinement, that goes to the G35, and of course the G35 will get more ladies to.

Yeah, the LS-1 is quicker, but still, the rest of the car is so far behind the G as far as quality and style are concerned. I like speed, but the style and quality (2nd Gen G35) make the G the easy win, for me anyway.
