Mexican GP-anyone going?

I'm seriously thinking about going. I looked into Austin and while the track is impressive, the seating is not (too far from the track in most places I'd want to sit). Besides, Austin looks like a total rip-off for accommodations and I played that game 5x in Indy and was not so happy about it. The promoters of the Mexican GP named a turn after Mansell, a reconfigured turn to replace the dangerous "Peraltada" where he overtook Berger in a move I will never forget. Here's the story:

Nigel Mansell ?proud and delighted? to receive Mexican Grand Prix corner honour // F1 News // James Allen on F1 ? The official James Allen website on F1

Go for it. I heard the tacos in Mexico are pretty good.

Never saw that pass before, pretty ballsy of Mansell. If you go to Mexico, watch your back.

As for Austin, my best friend growing up lives there and yeah lodging prices are ridiculous for the GP. He drove the track for a Cadillac event in a CTS-V and had a blast. He's been to the Touring car races but yet to make it to the GP.

If memory serves, Mansell's Ferrari was a John Barnard design incorporating a semi-automatic gearbox. I remember vividly watching that race, in fact, I have it on VHS (if only I had a VCR!)

That was 1989 which Mansell won, this pass was in 1990 for 2nd place with the 641 designed which was a evolution of the 640 which was IIRC the first semi-auto in F1.
