Question Memory functions - who cares?

I see lots of references to the memory functions (seats, etc.) of the TL and other cars.

My question is how many of you actually care and/or use this feature?

Maybe I'm in the minority here but the TL is my car and my wife drives her MDX. This accounts for 95% of our driving schedule.

On the rare occasion that she drives my car she would still use my fob because I don't take the keys out of my car when it's in the garage - so it wouldn't auto-adjust for her anyway. Yes I'll use the #2 memory spot for her settings but it's such a rare event that she probably wouldn't remember about it and just manually adjust things anyway.

Just curious as to how many of you think this is a "gotta have it" feature.....I guess if you were a one car family then it would be pretty valuable.

Agree here. But if there is something broken on the car, we want it perfect

It was important on my '01 CL since I often had to move the seat to load/unload the backseat, in a 4 door though, seems pretty useless for me.

I'm 6-2 and my wife is 5-0. Our seat and mirror settings are completely different, so the memory seats and mirrors are a really nice convenience for us.

My wife and I share the car so it is useful for us. Not a necessity but it is a nice feature. And, I expect it to work as designed.

It's great for us because we share one car. We live in a condo and have one parking spot and I take the subway to work daily. I think it's a great feature.

I agree with Spud, though I do want everything in the car working.

The TL is MINE. That's why I bought my wife an Accord, so I don't have to share my toys with her.

Sam, it took my wife some time to talk me into my first car with power windows and power locks four years ago--I had grown up with the urban myth that the power windows were always the first part of the car to break down. I didn't mind rolling down my own windows or manually unlocking the doors. Now....i wonder, what the hell was I thinking?!

speaking of that, the window on my mom's MB S320 rolled down and it couldn't roll back up again...haha

Re: Memory functions - who cares?

I know what you meant, and understand it's not so important to you guys beside we do like everything in TL working.

For me, I need it working 'cause of the valet parking in some occasions. If I need them to park right, I cannot force them not touching my setting.

PS. samkws, where did your Ma get S320 now? I hope they can fix that window issue for her...

I'm 6-1 and the wife is 5-4 (i think..) and we both have different seat settings, mirror, and heat settings. Not to mention music settings but so far I think I can live with my little 6 pre-set channels.

We trade vehicles every few weeks to save spending money on gas for our GMC Envoy (the wife has a shorter commute to work) and to keep each other from not getting bored with our drive to work. While I like the TL it's nice once in awhile to jump back in the truck.

I'm the only one who drives my car.

I want it working because it is part of what you pay for.

... and when you bring the car into the dealer and they move the seats or a valet, and you have to spend an hour adjusting the TEN WAY seats plus lumbar back to the way it was before, youb will not ask WHO CARES!

I don't let ANYBODY drive the TL, unless it's the dealer doing some repairs. My wife doesn't care to drive it either, she's afraid to wreck it. And I don't use valet parking, I park it myself, that way I know how the car was treated.

it is nice to have ALL features working though.
after all we all paid for it.
