Maybe I'm lucky...

... or just know nothing about cars, but I couldn't be happier with my TL (6mt, navi, black/black, 52xxx) - there's no vibrations, no rattles, XM is awesome, and it drives great. The tires, stock Bridgestone's, seem to be holding up, and I'm getting about 23mpg with both traffic and highway driving. Just thought I would post a positive review. I was afraid of rattles (haven't heard any yet, but definitely listening - it sounds like I will get one if I wait and listen closely enough) and of the handling (reading that Detroit Free Press Review saying that it handles almost dangerously), but having completed 2 test drives of 2 different cars that lasted about 20 minutes each, I went ahead with my purchase and got it last weekend. It was worth the 1 month wait and the service, so far, has been good. Couldn't be happier with my purchase (and I'm a picky guy). Not trying to say that there aren't very legitimate reasons why people are having problems, just thought I would give some people cruising here for purchase decisions something good to read.

I would agree with you. I am happy with everything except the tires.

I upgraded to Pilot Sports only because of the bone jarring ride w/ the EL's. No rattles here. Do you guys think that the lousy performance of those tires contributes to the rattles?

I'm also quite happy with my car. It does have a couple of minor rattles here and there, but otherwise, I don't have any of the problems brought up in this forum.

Not sure. I don't have any rattles, but I still think I need new tires.

Agree Great Car

Three weeks and a thousand miles later I'm still happy!!! I did change out my EL42's for Dunlop SP5000's and it did ride more smoothly. No rattles for me. I do have one minor squeak from passenger door armrest. Sounds like the leather on the armrest rubbing the leather on the door? It doesn't do it all the time so I'm not really worried about it. I was all ready to buy a G35 and then drove both and ended up with the TL. A much nicer car in my opinion unless you plan to autocross or other track work. Good luck!

Ditto. Great synopsis.

1 month, 1100 miles, VIN 44xxx, no problems.

I'm guessing the vast majority of owners are happy with their cars, but the folks with problems tend to be more vocal. I'm happy so far but its only been 3 days ;-)

Overall, I am also very happy w/ my TL both in terms of quality, luxury and driving dynamics. Well, the only problem I had was a puddle in the rear seat...but I'll be getting that seat changed soon anyway...hopefully w/ the leak plugged...

No rattles...no drooping headliners, no tranny problems. I'm a happy driver...

I, too, am delighted with the car. My only nitpick at all is that I wish the sound system would crank a little bit more. I still smile every time I climb in!

At the end of 7 (weeks and ~3000 miles). No runs, no hits, no errors ...err, no rattles, no droops, no memory loss.

1FasTL,

How do you like your Dunlops performance wise? I had them on my Camry and loved them so much I replaced them with the same set. Excellent dry and very good wet grip. I had the symmetical ones though. They were very quiet too.

I'm on my 4th Acura, starting with a '94 Legend, and I couldn't be happier with the '04TL. It's a great car, no rattles yet, and I have not had any other problems with the car. I think it's time that people with positive experiences with their car speak out. If I were planning to buy a new TL, and read this forum regarding all the problems with the car, I doubt that I'd consider buying it. People who have problems do tend to be more vocal, and I'm sure there are problems out there, but face it, this is one great car, and there are more good ones on the road than bad. Reading this forum would lead one to believe that the TL is a piece of crap and it's not. It's a production car, and like anything mass produced is going to have it's share of trouble, but after 4 Acura's, I wouldn't keep buying them if I had any problems.

Mine is pretty much flawless, too.

The only logical conclusion a person can come to from reading all these posts is that the TL must be absolutely the most perfect car ever made, without exception! What's that you say? You think that's a slightly extreme conclusion? Well, no more so than the ridiculous conclusion some have reached that the TL is a POS because of posts in other threads complaining about the car!

I must be lucky too! 6 weeks 2k miles, ELS tires and old 19xxx VIN yet I have no problems. Even the brembo stopped squealing.
Just pure driving pleasure!

I love mine. Not a single complaint other than the darn cup holders. And if that's the only complaint I can come up with I can live with it.

No rattles, no nothin...very tight car build quality wise. 4 months, 6K.

No issues here.

First post here. I have had my TL (6MT, Navi, Ground Kits) for 6 weeks now with no issues. No rattles, no droops, and the tires are ‘ok’ for me. Bottom line is this car rocks and I’m very happy I picked it over the G35.

maybe just a little rattle...

Ok, ok, I might have a small rattle. I heard it today while idling. It was coming from the material that surrounds the top brake light. I pushed it and the rattle went away but I still made a service appointment to have it checked out and fixed for good. Anyone else have this problem in that location?

And yes, still very happy with it but it is a minor irritation that I hope they can fix.
