edit by mod Ron A:

I hate to be the bad guy here, but we can't allow the link to the complete scanned service manual to be shown, because of copyright laws. I would hate to see Honda, who owns the rights to the service manual, shut us down.

We shouldn't have a problem furnishing a few pages for specific requests, but free access to the entire manual is a big no-no.

Thank goodness you caught this. I quiver at the thought of infringing on honda's copyrights. Shame on those who host copies like this one:

http://rapidshare.de/files/7599227/TL_Manual.pdf.html

It is exactly the kind of thing that the terrorists want!

It is not so much the thought of infringing on Honda's copyrights, it is the fact that they could shut us down if we did that makes me quiver.

And this is right at the top of the FAQ's in the link that you gave, so apparently they quiver sometimes also.

No files that are not allowed to be shared. (illegal, pornographic, copyrighted, etc.)

Does it say who posted it? I hope it wasn't one of the moderators.

The service manual has some electrical diagrams, but there is a separate Electrical Troubleshooting Manual which can be purchased for $47.

Look in the back of your owner's manual for the available factory authorized manuals from Helm.

Doubt they've ever been officially released electronically. The fear of inevitable internet piracy is probably why, but most people would probably pay for an electronic text + pics + search-able version than any pirate pdf version. If I could pa, say $50 bucks for and service manual in a chm format, downloaded direct from Helms, I'd do it right now. CHM FYI is the format that help files are written in, with clipboardable text, pics, links, searching, keywords, and indexes. Extremely useful, and considered standard with book in the computer programmer's world. Heck I buy the books and never even open them except to get the disc out! If I could just download directly if would save them the paper & shipping, and save me the trip to BN.

Though not much help here, Nissan/Infiniti has an online database with downloadable pdfs of their service manuals. http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/nissan/

Last time I used it, it cost $10 or $20 for a temporary membership, and I just downloaded the 3 service manual pdfs I needed. As NoSupport said, the electronic versions with their indexing and search capabilities have their advantages. It'd be nice if Honda/Acura did the same.

I came across this tonight and after a quick search, I'm somewhat surprised this hasn't been discussed beforehand, unless I overlooked something.

Honda Service Express

Unfortunately, downloading is prohibited - it's one of the restrictions placed by Honda. You'll have to log in and print what you need, or do everything interactively.

From the website FAQ:

WHAT IS SERVICE EXPRESS?

Service Express is American Honda’s subscription-based Web site dedicated to delivering the latest, most complete service information to the aftermarket. Information covers all vehicles back to 1990, and it is the same factory-authorized information that is available to Acura and Honda dealers.

Information includes:
Accessory Installation Instructions and related information
Body Repair Manuals
Campaign and Recall Bulletins
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) troubleshooting information and procedures
Enhanced Emissions info (Advanced Diagnostic Information)
Factory Maintenance Schedules
Service Manual symptom and repair procedures
Service Specifications
Technician newsletters (ServiceNews)
Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)
Wiring Diagrams
Parts Catalogs (all models back to 1970)

Also available, without a subscription, are the following reference documents:
Owner’s Manuals (starting with 2002 Honda and Acura vehicles)
Hybrid Emergency Response Guides
Mode $06 on-board monitoring test results (starting with 1997 Honda and Acura vehicles)

WHAT ARE MY SUBSCRIPTIONS OPTIONS?

There are three options for subscribing to Honda or Acura service information:
3 days for $20
30 days for $50 (automatically renewed)
365 days for $500

HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE?

Subscriptions are available for either Honda or Acura vehicles and are sold on-line through our dealers. To subscribe:
Click on the “Subscribe to Service Express” button on the log-in page
Complete the customer information (this is where you enter your desired Username and password)
Choose either the Honda or the Acura subscription option
Select a dealer from the list of authorized eStore Dealers
Complete the subscription process through to checkout

Yes, it was extremely irresponsible to post the link to the manual. The person who did it should be punished! I would personally buy him a beer to poison him with alcohol!
Fortunately, some important pages are missing from the "Body Electrical" chapter of the manual. The missing pages describe audio system, HVAC display and Navi.
To make the manual easier to read someone else cut it in a separate file for each chapter and posted all the chapters here:

I don't have one. You might search or post in 2G TL and see if you can find anything there.

Tried this site looking for the missing pages describing audio system, HVAC display and Navi. Didn't see anything. Have they been removed already?

Sounds like a conspiracy. I sure hope nobody releases a hi-res OCR'd indexed search-able TIFF file of it. That would surely turn my stomach. If I wasn't a good christian boy, I'd be huffing obscenities.

NoSupport, I would hate you very very much with all my heart if I ever came across the missing electrical systems pages.
Just the thought of it is making me nausceous!!!

What's Ban for Breasts btw?
Right, the new avatar is not cute. Thanks for listening...
Well, if I do stumble upon them, I probably will shield this forum from their evils. I don't think I'll be posting on her for a while. Soopa was bein a prick, and hurt my feelings. Remember the funny 'Supreme Moderator' avatar I had, well, he thought it was misleading, so I changed it to this ftp://acurazine:acurazine@txrx.dyndn...ine/avatar.png to include his feelings. Then, he deleted it. Soopa thinks hes a moderator but my hunch is his avatar is really just misleading. He's also banning breasts or something, but he wouldn't elaborate. I believe in free speech (ACLU MEMBER), but legally, acurazine doesn't have to. too bad.

I'd love to have this OCR'd and as a searchable PDF. If anyone could provide some insight as the steps needed and software required, I'd be glad to contribute a chapter.
