lol hey i think i had a worse salesperson than this guy....he had nooo idea what he was selling cause he was about 70 years old.....later i found out that he was the brother inlaw of the gm of the dealership....eh but i knew what i was lookin for i think i got a good deal
Had he tried that in mine, this would have been the exchange:
Him: "Fan speed 2"
TL: "Cassette on"
Him: "Cancel"
TL: "Please repeat"
Him: "Fan Speed 2"
TL: "Radio Preset 2"
Him: "Cancel"
TL: "Pardon"
Him: "Fan speed 2"
TL: "Defrost on"
BUt this was the best part: "Look at the nice trunk. The person who had it before really took care of it"........WHAAM!!!!

Yeah salespeople always try to sound friendly, natural and trustworthy. Half the time they don't know what they are selling and just talk crap to make a sale. (I had a Toyota dealer hang up on my yesterday because I called him out on his BS to his face.) I guess you can see right through it if you have a sales background.
Why is he touting a $90 trunk tray anyone can get? What sucker falls for that?? Who cares, he should be selling the car. "That's a real quiet engine." ??? Huh? That passenger seat looks like it was stabbed with a screwdriver and he says it's hardly been sat in at all? Why do these guys act like THEY owned the car and they know the full story of the history? Only the previous owner could say that. Jackass. Then it looks like he accidentally does a closeup on the driver's seat and thinks (Oh crap....well I can't BS this time, maybe I'll be honest to make myself look good. I'm sure whoever is watching this will believe me that the ONLY thing wrong with the car is a little wear on the seat, yeah.) I am not trying grill salespeople here. I have done many sales jobs and I know it is HARD ass work to persuade people, I feel for them. All I am saying is stop with the BS and be more honest.
500 miles left on warranty. Well, that in a way is a good thing. You could drive the car around for at least a week, make a laundry list of problems and bring it back to get it all fixed by the dealer in one shot. Better than buying a car without that little net.
And by the way I HATE when anyone slams my trunk too. I have seen people do this to my cars for years. My old cars all had wing spoilers that added weight and I swear it felt like people were going to break that thing. Yep that's how people normally treat an average car; without a care in the world. With my TL I am even MORE sensitive because of the backup camera, cathode tube license lights and the LED backups. There's a lot of hardware and $$ spent there that a lot of careless people that use/enter my car don't notice. They can call me anal all they want but when that trunk falls, trust me I RUN to catch it, lol.

There's nothing funny about the warranty...it probably has the extended warranty as most used Acura's do; therefore, it has 50k miles left under warranty. Come on guys, you know this.
What's funny is he said it was hard to find
. There's nothing rare about a 2004 NBP/Ebony 5AT.

It doesn't have to be certified to have an extended warranty on it. My warranty's up, but I can buy one that will cover me to 100k. So the dealer takes one of those (~$1.2k), gets it on this random car, adds $2k to the price, and points out how it's under warranty. Dealers are shady; this one seems really shady...wouldn't surprise me in the least.
The salesmans name is Rick "NO" Fuss and he's a jackass. I tried to buy a Civic from him back in June 06 to replace a leased accord. He would never give me a OTD price, kept talking about monthly payment amount....had no clue in what he was doing. This acura dealer is 5 miles from my house and they have a total of 10 TL's on their lot, maybe 5 TSX's. I'm not ever sure how they are still open. I drove 50 miles to the Palm Beach Dealer to buy both my TL's.
Actually, he knew very well what he was doing. Focusing on the montly payment is how salesman/dealers trick buyers into paying too much. It's smoke and mirrors; get the buyer to look at the monthly payment, not the factors that make it up (OTD price, interest rate, term, etc.).

They'll do anything to make a buck.

what a fucktard. and PINSTRIPES???
