Lighting and Turning

2 questions...

I heard the turning radius on the TL isn't so great? True or False?

Since the TL headlights are a bit sleek compared to other headlights, do they cover less area?

In my experience, I think turning radius is okay... maybe not so "great"
I feel it covers more than regular halogen light... but when it comes to taking sharp corner (like highway ramp), I use the fog lights which lights up wider area

I find the turning radius is acceptable but not outstanding and would not deter me from buying this car.

The lights have a sharp cutoff engineered into them so they do not annoy oncomming traffic as an earlier gen HID lamped car would. These still annoy people when you are off axis like at a stop on a hill where the opposite traffic is aimed directly into your lights. Now the high beams are the same intensity and wattage but just lift a flap to raise the beams cutoff height. Normal driving the lights are great. It is only in the dark twisties late at night with very small radius corners that really give me pause. It is than I wish I had the fogs as you US drivers do. This car would really benefit from steerable lights but then more $$

The lights seem to work great.

The turning radius is fine with me, I dont notice anything about it. My wife has said its lousy, but I never noticed it. There may be advantages to it, if the wheels turn a lot, that means the axles bend a lot, and the CV joint boots might wear out early on cars that flex the rubber a lot.
Some cars like the VW passat turn sharp and often have the boots fail at 40,000 miles...

the turning radius is not as bad as I had thought it would be given what I had read. I think the headlights give off good light. They definitely light up more of the road than other cars I've driven.

Only the foglights bothers people since they tend to think it's high beam.

The turning radius in this car is noticeably different than any other car I have had. Not sure why that is, but you soon learn what you can get away with in tight parking garages.

Yeah Ive had several people flash their high beams at me, thinking I have mine on.

I just flash my highs back and them so they realize its just my normal lights

I live out in the country where there is no ambient lighting from streetlights. The Xeons are incredible... and the high beams are freaking outstanding. I drive into my property with my high beams on, and it lights up the woods several hundred yards down the pasture.

The turning radius is just fine with me... I just got out of a Ford Expedition... so I'm freakin thrilled :-p

Neither, it's both.

I haven't had a problem, really.

The projectors light up the road pretty well. Since the cut-offs are pretty pronounced, the fogs are sometimes necessary on the twisties for optimal visibility. No complaints here.
