Has anybody gotten a good license plate frame or does anyone have any good ideas for a good frame?

this frame may look good but i could not find the TL version on ebay

or even a pure black would look good. if anyone has any suggestions for a SSM or pictures of their own regardless of color, please post. thanks.

In Tejas, they just made license frames illegal...

So I wouldn't know.

mischa,

This site might have what you need. You can select ACURA name from option B. Hope it helps

I use a plain black frame on mine, about 1/4" wide all the way around. I think it cost $1.99 at Pep Boys. I had a higher quality plain black metal frame for the back, but it didn't fit up against the top of the rear plate recess.

I found that keeps the dealers from putting their hideous advertising frames on the car when it goes in for service.

I don't think it will fit in the back; too wide on top.

I'm considering the ClearCover by WeatherTech:

I think the chrome would match nicely with the chrome Acura, TL and logo badging, though possibly the brushed stainless steel would be close to the aluminum trim. Black would be understated, and blend in with the striped plastic rear license plate area.

Anyone have experience with this product?

I had a chrome frame on but it looked to bright. Then I saw svtmike's posting, went to Pep Boys, spent my $1.49, and it looks great. I put some black touch up paint on the mounting bolts. Blends right in with the striped plastic area.

Frames in Texas are only illegal if they obscure the critical info on the plate....State name & letters/numbers. I've got college frames on both front and back of both our cars and never had a problem.

Since I have a black car I just got a simple thin black frame and those little snap on buttons that go over the screws. Since license fees are a bit high here I also got a plexiglas cover and used tamper-proof allen screws--the ones with the pin in the center (in addition to razoring the tags), just to add a bit more theft deterrance for the tags.
