LED driving lights

Okay so I have a 2006 TL which means I have the stupid fog lights that are in the headlight housing. I was thinking about getting foglights added at the bottom, but after a lot of consideration, I want to go with the newer look and run those LED foglights like the Lexus and Mercedes cars have now. has anyone tried using a set from a factory car or any aftermarket ones that look good?

Do you mean LED daytime running lights? Because that's what cars like the newer Mercedes and Porsche cars have. They're not fog lights.

As for LED DRLs, I have some. They're universal units made by Hella. They're DOT approved and they dim when the headlights are on like the LED DRLs on the OE applications.

In bright daylight:

Close to dusk:

With the headlights on (dimmed)

Keep in mind that these are daytime running lights, NOT fog lights. They're not meant for forward illumination and they don't have a focused beam pattern.

On a side note, LEGIT LED fog lights are a very recent and very rare thing. As far as I know, the Audi 2012+ A6/A7/A8 with LED headlights and the 2013 Mustang GT are the only examples of actual LED fog lights.

The only people running OEM LEDs from another manufacturer are bforbrian and Roger555.

bforbrian used OEM Mercedes E350/550 LEDs...

Roger555 used OEM Audi S6 LEDs...

Roger also modified them to be switchbacks...

I don't think there's any right way to do it at all. These LED lights just don't belong on this generation of Acuras. Period.

The car just looks extremely cheesy with the pseudo-luxury lights.

If you want to do LEDs right, buy an Audi.

I don't see why they "just don't belong". I bet 90% of people out there wouldn't be able to tell my car didn't come like that from the factory.

Plus, I didn't do mine to try and make my car look like a new Audi or Benz anyway. I have an 06 and I wanted daytime running lights, and LED DRLs were the easiest solution. I suppose I could have used a DRL module to run my fog lights as DRLs, but that would be a massive waste of power.

Personally I don't see the point of installing Accord fogs on US 04-06 models. What's the need for two sets of fog lights? It seems more like just bling factor to me. At least LED DRLs actually provide a useful function.

Just looks off on these cars, especially the Audi ones. The Hella style doesn't look terrible but still a little off. Phillips makes similar kits that a little cheaper that the Hella ones. I wouldn't mind it if i could mount them behind the bumper grills so it's invisible when off.

Led lighting

Here is a couple pix of some LED switchback turn signals. i installed. i have also done the Accord inspire Fogs with pearl yellow 3000k HIDs. i am debating whether i want to switch the turn signals back to just Orange LED or leave the white which to me seems to take away from my retrofit projector lenses that i just installed. which by the way will completely restore your projectors back to factory look. bluish/purple flicker from far away and just White close up.
