Lease Termination Inspection Question

Hi guys,

I have a 2007 TL-S and my lease is up in Dec 2010. For those of you who know, what is the criteria during inspection for tires? I had the dealer tell me they need to be like 50% or better, and 4 matching tires. They didn't know anything about speed rating and whether it needs to be the same.

I replaced my 2 rear tires with V rated tires, but I guess the stock's are W rated. If I get the same V tires in the front, would that suffice?

who exactly at the dealer- a salesperson?

You can get the list of items and `requirements` from the sales manager.
reasonable wear and tear with a dollar amount for that is included in your lease

they will charge for a new exhaust system~

minor carpet wear- seat wear- parking lot dings etc are all covered
Any mods you can remove, you should- they dont pay extra for them.
Look at time to remove vs cost of part and resale value, teins- yes pull them but thermoblock spacer..50-50 on that..a tech will steal the K&N,,,

They *may* charge you for any mods that they choose to put back to stock.

They will charge you for any mods that are illegal (or questionable) in your state. And it'll be dealer rates and dealer retail parts prices.

As far as the OP's questions, I believe there is a minimum tread that must remain at turn in, but don't know what it is.

My advice is to let them do the inspection. Once the inspection is done, they'll tell you how much you have to pay (if anything). However, you'll also have the opportunity to correct any items on the list. If tires are on the list, you'll have the choice of accepting Acura's charge or fixing it yourself at hopefully a better price.

call the sales manager and ask for the checklist to be faxed or emailed to you in prep for car turn in
They want cars back in the best shape of course, and you deserve to know the details of your contract~

dealer will put stock tires at 200$ per on it- find out the actual tread depth required for turn in..5/32 etc 3/32 is at the wear bars and time for replacement.
put a penny in the tread- hat first, if lincolns face disappears you have plenty of tread

I know when you return a Honda, its not the dealer that does the inspection. They have some third party do it. I would assume dealers might try to inflate things as leverage to get you to lease / buy another car. Don't you have $1500 (no single item over $500) of damage protection when you lease to AHFC?

3rd party is how they did our 2G TL a few years back.

Dont' recall the 3G lease limits, but $1500 and no single item over $500 sounds about right.

The used to give out a ruler and dent size tool/template thing, but I don't think they do that any more.

The answer is....

Thanks guys for all your input.

I spoke with AHFC and they said that tires do not need to be the same make/model as stock. They can be any 4 matching tires, all the same speed rating. The speed rating does not have to be the same as stock.

Thanks again.
