I want to get lambo doors on my 2004 Acura TL. Will a universal conversion kit fit/work on my acura?

x6! They're called Lambo doors because they not only look best on a Lambo, the idea was made for a Lambo....Have you ever been in a Diablo? You'll see what I mean. Watch how flawless the doors operate. No universal kit is ever going to replicate that enginnering. Sit in any car with gullwing doors, they make em with quality, no half-assed job here.

Acura engineers already had plenty of thought on how the doors open and close, and put nice quality mechanisms into them, this ain't no Corolla. Listen to that nice sound when you close the doors on the TL....That's on purpose. So you will lose both your quality Acura mechanics and never match the Lambo's mechanics. It'll be a sorry ass misaligned, ill-sealing affair made just for show-off looks made by some company that knows nothing about it. Not to mention it will look awkward as hell on a 4-dr luxury car!

 

I'm going to turn mine into a Acura Diablo Murcielago Gallardo TL Type-S SH AWD Type-R Si A-SPEC

HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO KEEP STUFF IN THE SIDE POCKETS IF THE DOOR ANGLES UP AND EVERYTHING FALLS OUT?!

That should be the deciding factor; if the vehicle doesn't come stock with elastic netting instead of side pockets on the doors they should deem the vehicle incompatible with lambo or scissor doors.

 

If he likes to do it, then let him do it. It's like saying why we mod our cars when Acura made the car look nice already.

^^ And I know I sound like a total jackass but I think most people agree; the users on this forum aren't looking to do these sorts of things to his or her vehicle; if it's something cheesey or "ricey" then honestly don't ask us.. You will get your feelings hurt - in the end it's your car and you can do what you want, but most people on here are looking for subtle, classy looking exterior mods to give an already beautiful car a little something special.


I think as a show car or something that's on display at a SEMA show (though still maybe not the TL) the lambo doors can look nice and neat - but on TL... meh... =/

 

Unless you're going to be submitting your car into car shows there's no need for it. If you look at it this way....that's the first step of making your car into a real transformer!!!!

 

If you're ever gonna do this, I would kill myself.

i can see the lambo doors on coupes, but definitely not on a sedan.

it is your car, so do as you will, but i think the consensus on this forum is

 

 

let him do it. it's his car and money. there are enough hot looking tl's out there. his will be the one everyone searches for the next time someone ask if this is a good idea. please get the doors done and post pics.
