Kinetic Blue Thoughts

I dont see too many people talking about this color on the boards. Is this a bad color to get? I saw it and love it on the Type S. I have an 04 Black now and am ready to trade in for the Kinetic Blue. Very in your face color!

What are opinions on it? Is it difficult to get?

Its a kool looking color to me! But what should really matter is that you like it...Who cares what other people think! LOL! We al have our opinions...personally, being an owner of a NBP, as you are, i find it difficult to keep up with its paint maintainence. KBP should be less of a hassle hopefully...Love the NBP color thou!

I really didn't like the color that much when I looked at the pics on the Acura site. When I went to dealer and saw all the cars lined up. I really liked the KBP and the more I drive the car the more I like my color selection. Look at all the colors side by side, Pick which ever you like best. Its not like there really is a bad looking color on this car.

It's that same (not exactly the same) color on the 02-04 Type S, the Aegean Blue Pearl. I wonder how much the 2 shades' differ?

Thumbs up

I love the kinetic blue! When we got out Type-S the dealer had silver, bronze, black and the kinetic all side by side. The blue really jumps out at you, like someone said if you want attention then get it. My wife nixed it for us, though, said any of the other three were ok but she didn't want that bright. Personally I would want to go with some chrome rims vs. the dark on the Type-S, I think that would look great against that color.

Its a great color but lighter than the previous gen Agean Blue Pearl, if I would buy a Type S I would go for the KBP

Its a great color, it is a bit eye catching though. I liken it to a bright yellow, colors like this grab a lot of attention. It is somewhat similar to Aegean Blue Pearl, and I like both colors but ABP was a nicer color IMO.

I will post pics of my Kinetic Blue tonight as it finally has stopped raining here in Jersey. The color is unlike any other and those people on here who are saying it's a lot like that Aegean Blue from the 2nd generation (with all due respect) have no clue because this color really is way different. I agree with RedHott411 in that the color doesn't look so hot on the website and most pictures on the net won't do it any justice but when you see it in person, you can't help but to fall in love. It's a blue you can't describe in words and supposedly it's an exclusive color just for this year and may never be back.

Also, my friend got a NBP at the same time as me and while they stood side by side in the parking lot today, all of our friends agreed that although the black is sweet as hell, it almost just becomes another car on the road while the KBP screams electric! KBP all the way if you ask me.

I'm biased cause I have one but I really like it. I went to the dealer looking for silver but when I saw the blue, couldn't keep my eyes off it. I think because the Type S has the grayish wheels, they look best with red, blue or black. Color does not look good on Acura website but better in person. I'm still not exactly sold on the wheels though. They look a little too ricer for me.... I kind of like the standard wheels better.

ive got a 2nd gen abp... i am a fanatic with keeping the car clean, but i have to say even when it gets dirty at times... it still shines in the sun haha... since its a similar blue (def not exactly the same though) as abp it should be a huge relief on upkeep coming from nbp ... go for it... i get compliments all the time for my color choice... you'll stand out a lot with that especially since you dont see the 07 type s too often... i dont know where you're from but if its a not so nice area for vandalism and theft i wouldnt get a color that stands out so much thats the only negative... but you wont regret it if u go with blue... me being a huge nbp fan i chose abp and still dont regret the decision. kbp should be no diff.

I love my Kinetic Blue! It is such an attention getter! I like black but after years of having black suv's it such a pain in the ass to keep it looking good especially after 5 yrs.

azeemdadream, I wouldn't mind waking up rain or shine and see the blue TLS. The color is sick and it will never wear off. I had a black 2nd gen TLS and it is a great "safe" color. If I can do it over again, I would get the blue for sure.

TypeSdragon .....thanks bud, I had a grey/black TLS before this (03) and although it was nice, it was way too dull compared to this beast.

Why do all the pics on line make the Kinetic Blue look much lighter and brighter then in person? ALL the pics I see online look great! I have looked at it in person many times at diff dealers and it looks so much darker? I don't like it as much in person?

JD-TLS, I can tell you that all the pics I've seen online except for a select few posted by members here have done no justice to KBP, especially the pics on ACURA.COM. My pics are probably the most accurate color wise to how the color looks in person.

I think KBP is a great color for the TL-S. More suitable for say an NSX but to each his own. I've seen it in person and yeah the pics are pretty accurate but its a very eye-catching color, still different from the pics. I mean the general shade of blue is there, but its a lot shinier. I'm just guessing that the dealership got it detailed pretty damn good because its what they have on the pedestal, and you took those pics with a point-and-shoot or decent camera phone and not a DSLR.

I'm really picky with car colors and I think the new DMM is a gross color. Reminds me of 90% of all 1992-2002 Camrys. They're all that flesh-looking color. Whats peculiar to me is I have a 95 Integra which is DMM and its a great color, nothing like the new DMM, its actually a brownish-silver color.

I Go To Costco;

Yes it's true that the color is still shinier in person and it's also true that I used a point and shoot camera but I am offended that you said "or a decent camera phone". LoL, I must be pretty horrible at taking pictures because I'm using a nice Canon S70 (7.1 MP). DSLR are too much for me since I'm not hardcore about pics.
