Keyless Entry System Problem

So even after setting it to 30 secods, the alarm/KES wont lock the doors automatically if I forget to lock them when I get out of the car. It has always done that, but I have never taken it to the dealer. Does anybody else have this problem or I'm I doing something wrong or what?

no it will not lock the doors if u just got out of the car, it will only lock the car if u unlock it and never open the doors.

Wish this one is helpful...

There is no autolock feature if you forget to lock your door.

But, there is a feature to help you re-lock the door after you remote-open the door and decide not getting into the car...

Is there a way to completely turn this feature off?

No. You can only set it to 30, 60, or 90 second delay.

Thanks man. Now, couldn't they add just a few more lines of code and add that feature? I figure they did it for a reason. Anyhow, I did lear some other things not to do, like kget my keys locked in the car. Thanks again!

I believe they could, and you may see it in the following years.

Also, I guess this relock feature is main for the safety issue. If you mistakenly press the "unlock" button, at least your car will be secured again after the time you set up.

I can already see the threads complaining about auto lock...

"I pulled my car out to wash it, left the keys on the seat, and now the doors are locked. This auto lock feature sucks"

Only takes 1/2 a brain cell to remember to lock your 35,000 car after exiting. I would much prefer they spend engineering cycles on eliminating the key fob altogether (you know like the less expensive Accord).

It must have some sort of auto look feature because I locked myself out last weekend! Got out at a friends house for a couple of minutes and just threw the keys on the seat. SUre enough, came out about 20 minutes later and was locked out. Had to have friend drive to my house to get the spare, now I know

You know I'm confused with this one... Our car ain't supposed to lock it automatically. Without press "unlock" button, you car should not lock itself even though you leave your key inside the car.

A month ago, someone ever complained why his car kept locking itself everytime he stepped out of his car. After checking all the possible setting, ppl suggested him to have the dealer checked.

Did you read this thread from the beginning?

The most pertinent reply was by rets: "There is no autolock feature if you forget to lock your door".

The first reply by AcuraTLetc also hit the nail on the head.

This has been mentioned a few times recently, and is usually attributed to either an electrical malfunction or the fact that the driver locked the door without realizing it. Anyway, there is no autolock function.

In my case I think I may have locked, opened back up and then left keys in there? Anyway, first and last time for that.

Who leaves keys in plain view on the car seat?

Next time why not just leave the car running and put a neon "STEAL ME" sign on the window?

Take your keys with you when you get out of your TL and I guarantee you'll never get locked out again.
