Just ordered my Switchblade!
Well, I just ordered my switchblade fob from FLBUSA. Hope to recieve it sometime next week. $30 to have it cut.... $55 to sync chip to car. Good deal? Who all has great experience purchasing from FLBUSA and having the fob work properly?
I paid $57 at Lynnwood Acura in Washington for the cut and program. I paid whatever the cost of the key was at FLBUSA. Something like $110-$120 shipped. The dealer said it was a very nice mill job that FLBUSA did.
I paid $115 for the actual FOB. I just ordered it, so I have not received it yet. I'll keep you all posted on how everything goes. I've done some shopping around....found an acura dealership who will cut the key for $29, and program the chip for $55. I may see if I can find a good locksmith who may do it for like $40 total!

I got the first set of switchblades from FLBUSA and I love them. So far the only problem I have had is with the ink rubbing off the buttons for locking and unlocked, but that is expected with so much use.
yeah, i don't think milling should cost an extra 60 bucks, and programming & cutting shouldn't cost another frickin 57. I've spoken with someone that's done a swap of both the metal key portion and the chip, which is the only other thing you need, it's easy to program a remote to your car by yourself!

Checked with my Acura dealer and they will cut for free and charge $90 to program. Does that sound right. Can I program it myself or is that sommething they have to do to get it working like for factory remotes?
Just a word of caution to everyone who is going to have their dealer cut the key. My dealer uses a stamp method ( for lack of a better term ) which cuts or "punches out" the key all in one shot. The other method would be actually grinding the key using another of your keys as a guide.
My dealer actually recommended that I go elsewhere for the cut. They said their machine doesn't always get it right on the first shot, and they can't simply grab another from the shelf if they mess mine up.
I took their advice and got it cut at a local locksmith, using the grinding method.

I have 07-TL & already have 2 key fobs (#1 & #2). I asked two dealers, one told me "NO"...not possible & one told me "YES" of course it's possible. I am not going to spend $2-300 to gamble...I want a sure thing.
My question to them was, can I have two key #1s or two key #2s ?
