Just my luck!

So, after leaving the muffler shop enjoying the sounds my car is making after deleting the mid-muffler, I decide to get some food and a drink. Now, unfortunately for me, when something happens, it has to be TERRIBLE. I get home, remove my drink from the cupholder, and for some reason, the person who put the lid on didn't do it properly. Out comes a nice amount of coke which fills up my entire center compartment, and goes all over my carpet, floor mats, and underneath the shifter and those great places. Now, after some heavily damaged plastic trim and slightly damaged aluminum trim on my passenger side, I can't figure out how to remove the cupholders + the entire area that covers the shifter. It's the plastic that surrounds the heated seat buttons, and I already removed the woodgrain trim underneath the shifter. Can someone with a service manual chime in so that I can clean all this sticky shit out from all the parts inside the shifter area, and if they could also tell me what is involved in replacing the plastic side trim that goes from right next to the glovebox down to the side of the seats?

search about a short shifter and I am sure there was something in there about taking those pieces of. How much did you get charged for the mid-muffler delete?

look at the short shifter install thread in the 3G garage. Removal of it isn't that hard, just time consuming. The sliver strips have to come off, then the center console should slide back and come out. Then you have to take out the cupholders (4-6x silver screws) and it should come out.

Some of the clips broke off while I was removing them. By that I mean they broke off in the middle, so does that mean I'm gonna have to replace the entire panel, or can I somehow buy just the clip and re-attach it? The panel I'm referring to is the one underneath the steering wheel:

Look at #8.

Here's a pic of how the AT shifter area looks like. Just a cell phone pic.

More to come later today, when I'm not too lazy to upload the pictures from my digicam.
