I've got bumper scratches.

So I was driving home on the I-95 on thursday night through a thunderstorm.

There was debris from trees on the road and I could not swerve fast enough to get out of the way of a tree branch and my baby took it almost head on.

Here are some pics of the damage.

Can you guys let me know if I need to get the whole bumper repainted or if the body shop can do something that will cost less for my type of damage?

I will try to get some better pics up later today. I'm going to be washing her to get a better look at her wound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar scrape last year from my garage, that looked like yours. It cost around $250 to fix at a body shop.

What did your body shop do to fix it?

Also, I don't think its gonna be able to be buffed out. Its quite deep.

I would try Scratch-X but its way too deep.

I was wondering if body shops have procedures for these kinds of scratches that are too deep to buff out but not enough damage to replace the bumper.

Would they have a procedure for spot treatments? I'm not sure if I'm wording it correctly. Something that would cost less than repainting the whole bumber?

Any other advice besides the under spoiler?

I really don't want to just put on the front underspoiler. I think that looks horrendous. Either get the whole thing or don't. I don't want to shell out over $1000 for it.

I will take some pics..I just installed the rear under body spoiler and have had a lot of compliments on that specifically from compelete strangers. I think it looks good. Blends with the rest of the factory kit well. Did not like the front underbody spoiler.

I was thinking the exactly same thing. I do get some scratch now, and prolly will replace them by A-Spec items if they get worse and worse.

2G bumper cover an paint estimate from an adjust a couple years back was 501 - 537. 3G might be a bit more. if you replace it, have them paint it and then go in for the swap. That way you are there for about 90 minutes and not lose your car over night while they paint it..
