Talking It's official...

So I went down to the Acura dealer and test drove the TL for a second time. I love it. So we talked numbers, and 2 and a half hours later I was shaking the hand of the dealer.

I picked up an Anthrocite on Ebony combination, with Nav and the spoiler.

It'll be built the week of April 12 and expected date of delivery is May 10th... she gave me that as the "as late as May 10th" date.

Soon enough I will be in my TL

I think I got ripped off with my 02 Maxima trade in though. We went back and forth for a good hour about the amount of my 2002 Maxima they would give me. argh... oh well

They went to 34,000 even... added the spoiler for 795 which I thought was high... then I had my down payment and trade in.

Perfect colour combo. BTW, no offence, but if they gave you a bloody dollar for that fugly car you got enough. Why did you not get the new Max. Could it be its even uglier than the 2002. :banghead:

It's because I'm tired of Nissan... the new generation Maxima's suck... the 02's don't suck as much

Congratulations, you have very good taste!

Don't worry about getting ripped off on your trade-in. The convenience of not selling your car on your own is worth it in my opinion, and you'll forget all about it once you're in your beautiful new TL.

sweet... well, I'm young and I wasn't given a hassle. Especially when I showed up in jeans, old sneakers and a hooded sweatshirt on...

I have a wait on mine because they are going to get me one freshly built...

jjay,

In central TX, there are 6-speeds at every dealership. I'd say that 80% of on-lot inventory is 6-speeds.

I don't know whether I'd rather buy a car or get a colonoscopy!

The Waiting Game

Dr. Sprite,

I bought one that was in the pipeline as well. Mine was started on 3/29 and they told me it takes four days to make one. I am expecting mine by next weekend. When I was at my dealers on 4/1, they had just unloaded cars. I looked at their build sheets and those cars were made on 3/24. It seems to take a week in transit although the dealer will usually add on a week so you don't haunt him as the time gets close.

Now, all you've got to do is refrain from reading all the nit-picking posts on this forum from people with floppy tires, big butt prints in the leather, and headliners (sky?) falling. I'm ready to name mine "The Rattler". :lol2:

Welcome to the Anthracite Factory endorsed Team!!

You'll have great pleasure each day you slide into the drivers seat knowing yours is the standard all other TL's are based on :p

how much did you get for your trade in? I traded in an 03 Maxima and got 18k for it I owed about 19,200 on it so not bad of a deal..I would think you would get about 14 or 15k depending on your mileage

Congratulations on your upcoming TL ownership!

I waited a month for mine, too, and found the last week or so the hardest. But it was worth it when I slipped into the driver seat with my key in hand for the first time

As for trade in value...to be honest, I get a little tired (no insult to anyone intended) by all of the "Check out the awesome deal I got!" posts. Really, bragging about how you dickered with a dealer is about the same as bragging about which cars you raced against: it seems childish to me. I paid a fair price on mine, got a reasonable trade in for my 2004 TSX (15,000 km), and am happy. I'm sure someone else might have gotten a better trade in value, or had something more dropped off the price, but so what? All comparing does is leave someone the "winner" and someone the "loser"...I don't see the value in that.

Again, congratulations!
