Interior Door Lock Nub Delete?

I searched on the forum, and all I could find was the exterior door lock/keyhole delete. Has anyone made the door lock shorter from the inside so it doesn't jab into your arm when you want to put your arm out the window? If so please post a DIY, because I plan on doing it on all the doors.

unscrew, cut, re-screw...done! just be careful, in case of an emergency or power loss you will have a much harder time exiting your vehicle due to the inability to pull up on the lock.

^^^ What blkaspec said. The little circles around the door lock also pop right out easily. I did mine all in about 5 min with a hack saw, cutting off about 1/4". Just unscrew it and pull up, if the surrounding piece pops out don't panic as it just pops right back in.

I checked the garage, but there's nothing on it, just two links on how to take out the outside keyhole. Thanks for the help, I'll try it out.

Can someone put that in the garage? I think it's a pretty useful mod.

I typed something up about this in another thread, and I hate to harp on it, but I also don't want to type it all up again, but here's the summary.

I'm a firefighter, I've been to car accidents where the power is lost and the button dind't work so we needed to pull up on the pins or slide the locking mecahnism, but in one instance, we couldn't get the doors open becasue the person modded the door lock pins and the power door lock obviously wasn't working, the time is took us to have to force the door with the jaws of life and get the person resulted in additional permanent medical damage. Could have all been avoided if they left the nubs on there...

Freak occurance? Sure, but unecessary...

I just looked at my locks closely and the hole they sit in is very slanted so I'm just going to shave it down so that it's flush with the highest part of the hole instead of having it disappear completely. At least I'll still be able to unlock my doors in case something like that happens.
