Exclamation Interested in a 07 TL-S in MD?

I stopped by the Acura dealership a few days ago and test drove the TSX which felt like a better handling accord and a more luxurious interior. Well I wasn't too impressed but saw the kinetic blue TL-Type S and didn't think much of it. Then i was watching a lil tV and an ad came on for it. As soon as it finished I went downstairs and did some research on the car. I'm definitely hooked, and I talked to one of my friends who likes his 05 TL.

I got on these forums today to look into what people on the forums thought of the car and what problems they were having with it.

All in all it seems there are problems with the rear struts which seem to be fixable, and some minor other problems with pinging and some transmission problems.

I'm debating whether these problems are minor and I shouldn't be turned off by these problems.

Is everyone satisfied with their TL-S (I was hoping to get an AT)?

Also Specifically for those in MD area, what dealership did you go to and how is their service?

Thanks a bunch!

I go to Chevy Chase Acura in bethesda....can't complain exept one of the mechanics scratched the hell out of my car and curbed one of my wheels, but besides that, theyre pretty good. Rosenthal acura is supposed to be very good as well.

Has anyone heard anything about Norris Acura West on route 40? Thats the closest one to me and the people there seem friendly.

Also while I was there I saw a Porsche 911 Turbo that was modded, and the salesman I was talking to owned a C5 Z06.

I don't have a TL-S, just a 06 TL, but ROsenthal Acura has been sweet with all of my Acuras (3)!

I friggin LOVE my kinetic blue TL-S...

I came from a 400hp Subaru STI, and I hardly miss it. Sure its not as fast, but the features and comfort more than make up for it. That, and it still is pretty fast, considering. I have the AT tranny, and the car drives awesome.

That Kinetic Blue is awesome...second only to NBP, of course! They both command attention! Some people like Silver, but Silver just looks too dull to me. Plain Jane, if you will. You HAVE to tint it up and make changes if you go that route. But if you go Kinetic Blue or NBP...it's a badass even in stock condition! Believe that! You can go awhile before you do anything! Go to Rosenthal and let them take care of you! You can always just use the service at Norris. No matter what, get the Kinetic Blue or NBP...you won't be disappointed!

P.S. - People are going to tell you that if you go NBP, it's a headache to keep clean. You have to always wash it. You have to pay the cost to be the boss, besides, it's a small amount of maintenance for a hella nice car! Hey - you have to wash your ass everyday too, but you do that right? LOL! So get it!

I'm loving the TL-S now. The car handles well and has decent power. Real solid.

The only drawbacks for me are:
- rattles (minor but annoying)
- horrible gas milage in stop and go traffic (but awesome on the highway/freeway)
- stiff suspension took a while to get used to (don't think I can go back to non-sport suspension now though)
- leather quality isn't very good - wear shows faster than most other cars.
- Insane amount of brake dust from the brembos in the front.

My favourite things about the car:
- Lots of electronics to play with.
- Interior/exterior styling
- Weight of the steering wheel
- Feel of hte car - it feels so aggresive compared to the non-type-S' that I've driven. The gear ratios, brakes, steering wheel tightness, suspension.. this car asked to be pushed - just not to the limit.

Oh.. I should also mention:

To me, the TL-S is a car that is a luxury-sport sedan. What I mean is - it's supposed to be a luxury car with some sporting aspiration. However, what I've found is that the car tries to be more sporty than luxurious. At the end, it does a bit of both, but doesn't stand out in either category.

Oh.. I forgot to mention that one major concern for me is that it's still a 3G - meaning the car will look dated in about a 1.5 years once the 4Gs come out.

I had an 06 Accord EX V6 Nav, tradded for 06 TL Nav, then like a fool I tradded it in for a 2007 TL-S. LOVE IT BIG TIME. No tranny problems, the shocks do make funny sounds, but no rattles. It is really a big diff from the Accord, and a good diff from the 06 TL. My bro loved my 06 TL, But couldn't believe how awesome the 07 TL-S is. A TSX is a dog IMO. Nice for an econo car with good looks.

Thumbs up

I've had my Kinetic Blue TL-S for 2 months now.

I absolutely love it... The best combination of confort, sportiness and looks I have come across. I get lots of as I drive around. (That never happened in my Accord).

The TSX is a great car, but the TL-S is better in every way. Get it, you won't be sorry.
