Hey thanks for posting in the TL forum! I'm betting this lip spoiler will generate a lot of interest as long as it resembles the aggressiveness of the TL-S lip (the base TL lip is just too plain jane for me). Originally I was looking to spend around $200 however. Let’s see where this goes…

i think what it all boils down to is sticking with a concept that works...the TL Type-S lip. If your spoiler resembles this lip rather than trying something "new and innovative", people would be all over it. Not to mention it would be a hell of a lot cheaper! Anyone else concur?

STICK TO TL-S STYLE!!! The fact that the MSRP on the TL-S spoilers is $628.07 is a representative of the demand for that particular spoiler. A spoiler should be made to the spec of the Type-S lip...If it ain't broke, don't fix it! (If you guys haven't noticed I want the TL-S spoiler at a decent price rather than taking it up the rear)

I guess if everyone wants a TL-S rep that would be safe, but I would not want to make a straight COPY. That's just lame.
The wing we have for the TSX is a slightly shaped version of the EDM Ducktail wing, an OEM wing from Europe that also costs $500-600. So we made this wing as a rep with a little flare to it.
I think the TSX is a more spirited car than the TL, which is more about strength. Like, the TSX is a sword and the TL is an axe. So maybe something more bold is better for the TL. Just copying the Type-S wing would be pretty lame, though we could use it as a base then go from there...
The problem we are having with the TSX group is this really polarized opinion. Some people love it and some hate it. I am having a hard time figuring out what to do with it. Even in this thread we have design elements that some people like and others that don't.

I think give it some time (the thread is only a day old)...as soon as this project gains better visibility you'll have a better idea of the market. In the meantime...

And yes, it seems to be a love/hate kind of reaction. what we're finding out however is that there actually are people that would buy it (and more to come), therefore verifying your "interest" thread

whoa, whoa, watch the use of the word "wing" around here, we're talking about a "lip" spoiler...i know many ziners as well as myself do not like the factory wing or any wing for that matter.

But yea, it isn't really a wing. It is more of a wing than a lip though, to be honest.
While some interest is verified it is not seeming to overwhelm. We like to see more of a 7-3 towards approval...this looks more 7-3 towards disapproval!
But if we can alter the design as phee said, I think it would get a better reaction from the folks here.

A Lip goes at the bottom of the bumper. This is not a lip spoiler. Technically we call it a decklid spoiler. But is it still a spoiler

sorry to jack this thread...but have u ever considered fabricating a simple/clean front lip for the TL...i think something like that would generate alot of interest! as for the spoiler, i like it...but its too similar to whats already out there...i saw some good suggestions with the accord, and s2000 style spoilers. good work tho!
