Insurance Rates

Anyone have any recommendations on an insurance company? I currently have Safeco. You don't really know how good or bad an insurance company is until you're involved in a bad wreck. I wasn't at fault but went through my insurance company because an attorney told me it would be better. If this was better I can't imagine what worse would be.

Anyways... All of the ones mentioned are very good. Just make sure that you have the right coverage on your car. The rates may not matter in your state cuz it might be regulated, like in good old Mass. MetAuto is supposed to be good too.

That's no accidents or tickets as far back as I can remember. I'm about 35 miles west of Philly and use the car every other week to drive to work in Philly.
I also carry limited tort, which means I can't sue anyone for something small. It saves quite a bit.

It depends on your age, driving record, and where you live, different companies do better in different parts of the country.. And it often depends on the agent,, I have Allstate through a family owned agency, (husband, wife and son are all agents and run the office) They have given me great service through two accidents, one my fault, and a couple of broken windshields. Had a stone chip on the passenger side of my wifes old Civic 6 years ago, they patched instead of replacing. This year, long after the full coverage was dropped, it started to crack, the shop that did the original repair had warranteed it for life, but they went out of business. My agent got it replaced for free someplace else as a failed repair. The rates are good but the service is great, I also have my home owners with them so that helps..

actually, there are even more than that many things that affect your rates. unfortunately, there's no "single" insurance company that's going to give you the best rates every single time. it is ALWAYS a wise choice to shop around. every single little detail about you and your situation can affect your rates and every company has different ways to rate every one of those little details. now, if you're speaking of customer service, THEN it is easier to talk about which insurance company is better and which is worse. if you care at all about service, then look for that while comparing rates. but if you're one to only want to have the insurance because it's the law and you never plan on calling your insurance company (nothing wrong with being one of these people, i used to be one), then it's much easier to simply go with the lowest price. but please, PLEASE make sure that when you find that unbelievably low rate, you verify that they have EVERY single bit of information exact and precisely correct BEFORE you sign or pay. you'll regret not doing all that when you receive a cancellation notice or a bill for thousands of dollars for stuff that you did not inform the insurance company about or things that maybe your agent "mistyped" or "misunderstood"

sorry for the novel, i work in insurance and i always spill all the info when i see a fellow citizen in need of insurance information. the average person knows nearly nothing about insurance or their own policy. i dunno, its just wierd how everything changes when you go from a regular guy who knows the average amount about insurance to working for one of the nation's largest insurance provider. just tryin to be helpful.
