We have a grinch who has been giving everyone in the Xmas Thread and the 3G Owner's Sign-in thread negative reps.

He has no rep power so you didn't lose any points. We have banned him as of this minute so he can't do any more damage.

We are getting together on the moderator's forum to decide a course of action, but if I have anything to say about it, he will be permanently banned. I think the other moderator's will also feel like this.

We are sorry this happened, but it will have no lasting effect on your rep points, and since you are the only one who can see the red square, and you know what happened, we hope you will not worry about this too much.

 

Fortunately we got on top of this right away. As Ron says, we have banned the person who did it. At his max, he only had one rep power so it shouldn't have any material effect on your rep score.

If you know of any other threads where he has struck, let a mod know about it.

Our apologies for the trouble. Hope you and yours have a happy and joyous Christmas or whatever other holiday you celebrate.

well, someone gave me a neg. in the 3g tl sign in and i lost 8/7 points meaning that the person had 14/16 points??? i dont think my reply was in anyway......BAD!!!!

 

The only neg rep you got today was from this person, and he had ZERO rep power, so you couldn't have lost any points from that. The last rep you got was yesterday at 10am, and I am sure it was a good one.

Let me repeat. This badguy had no rep power, so nobody lost any points from him.

I got neg rep points in the 3G TL sign in, but meh, I didn't stress it, I figured it was someone with little or no rep power as my rep power didn't change. Glad you guys caught it, good job!

 

Ypu have pretty trong rep power. Outside Soopa, Astro and JATTerbox, I doubt anyone can do much damage to you.

Update

I want to keep the members advised that we have banned the offender for 2 weeks.

If he/she publicly apologizes to all the members of the effected forums, I will lift the ban at that time. There was no permanent damage.

By then, January 9, 2005, you will know who did what and you can express your sentiments to him/her directly (and politely).

If he/she does not comply with those conditions, the ban will be permanent.

I can tell you that TL was not his/her home or main hangout. It was not one of our "homies".

I thought someone that hated me gave me it, so I tried to figure out who gave it to me and tried to give it back to them, but then I saw this and realized I gave negative reps to wrong people.
