I was all set on going with a set of Type S tails, but after seeing some pics of the 07/08 base tails on here I'm completely torn. I'm in the process of installing the aspec kit and figured I'd change out my tails when i pull the bumper.

Which look the best with WDP?

 

I have a WDP and just installed the depo TL type S tail lights from a reputable seller on Ebay, and they look great. I say go type S either with depo, or OEM, but thats because I am smoking out my head and side lights. If you like more red, go base model!

 

I'd try to look at some pics of both on the WDP and then judge for yourself. I also have WDP but I have the Type-S and the Type-S tails of course.

 

I just had this same thought this morning as I was walking away from my WDP in the parking garage.

I am debadged, Aspec kit and red tails. It looks kinda plain back there now. I like it on one hand.. But on the other... I feel like it could use perhaps some tint or something.

Granted Brain as an NBP. But I think he is on the right track.

 

Currently I have all red on my WDP. I'm sitting home waiting for my type-s tails to come in. At first I wanted to keep the all red, but after seeing the color in the type-s tails, I think they'll match my wheels perfect.

I'm thinking of opening up my red tails and try to play around with them, maybe make something custom. Thats the benefit of buying another set. Just a thought though.

 

In the same boat as you...Type S or 07/08 base tails...

RIght now i am leaning towards the 07/08 base tails, i like the Red/white contrast.

 

Amazing, the ealier years want the later year or type S tails, while the people that have the later years change the tails to the earlier years.
IMHO, the plain lights look the best.

 

I say go with 07/08 base. they look the best on WDP I think.

I too was in the same boat until I finally decided after looking at dozens of pics. I went with the 07-08 Base tails for my WDP and Type-S Side Markers. No regrets at all.

My thoughts after it was done: This is how it's supposed to look.

07-08 base tails are hawt on WDP IMHO. The white in them does well against your paint.

^^I am considering going with the clear side markers as well, but not for sure. As far as the tails go, I agree that all three options have a place, it just depends on the car color. I really dislike the 07/08 base tails on the darker colors and think either the all red or type-s look best. The one thing I dislike about the Type-S, is that they look like every other car on the road today sporting the euro look. I'll more than likely go with the 07/08 base or may stick with the red for now.

 

Cant say I have ever seen someone with the newer 07/08 TL change to the older plain red lights. The old plain ones dont look so hot.

As far as which lihgts to go with. Hands down go with the 07/08 base lights on WDP. They look insane on WDP!!!!

 

WDP with Depo TL-S tails gets my vote.

The 07/08 base tails look good on most color cars...excellent on WDP

 

Couldn't agree more..maybe the best mod I've done to my WDP.

 

If ur going to get the type s don't go e-bay or depo. I got mine from curry acura, i love them, and it is the best look for dwp. Look @ mine.
