I'm back Replaced my wrecked TL

I totaled it in a accident about 3 weeks ago just got the new one in. I replaced it with the same car NHblack/ebony nav auto. The only PITA was that the regular detailer was a no show so they used the lot monkey to prep the car. which means I have to do a total prep to get rid of the incredible swirls he put on the car. youjust can't win sometimes.

well I only had the other car for 2 1/2 months, I got hit by a tahoe in the front at 55mph at an angle and walked away with bruises. I only had 1200 miles on it. The car is safe and I had not gotten tired of it yet. I liked the color combination at this point no other car in the price ranged tickled my fancy. i would have waited for the 06 but my other car is a Toyota supra and I did not want to use it as a Daily driver. here is the link to the thread where I discussed the accident

What was the speaker TSB that you referred to in the original post? Not familiar with that one. Did a search and didn't find any info.

Congrats on your new car. Sorry to hear (belatedly) about your accident. Looked like a total to me.

Never Never let anyone wash or detail your car...especially those that use brushes....as you found out, with a black car, you're going to end up with hours of work getting rid of the swirl marks those idiots put in your paint. Anytime I buy a new car, I tell them NOT to wash the car with their machine, I only let them hand wash and dry with a chamois...and if they won't do that....I tell them to deliver it dirty and I'll wash it myself. I've had this problem too many times in the past and getting rid of swirls is very difficult if not impossible depending on how bad they are.

True to all of the above. The regular detailer did a superb job on the first car I bought from them. The salesman never told me that the detailer did not show up for work and was anxious for me to get the car and took it upon himself to have the "lot boy" prep my car. I have politely let him know that it was a bad move. I have a porter cable random buffer and was able to remove all but one area which they will buff out with a rotary. I have an 11 year old supra which looks like new no swirls and I am regular on autopia the detailing site. I felt that if I could not get the swirls out I would not accept the car they have a 7 day window to return it. I am peeved but after walking away from a potentialy fatal accident I am able to put this in perspective. David
