I'm looking to replace my 6k DRL LEDs with 5k also since I ordered some 5k triton switchbacks.

I purchased the new 9005 drl LEDs that are being released by vleds in February, and with the 35% deal it came out to a decent price for how good their bulbs are and how bright it's supposed to be. Only downside is the waitin game but I have to wait for switchbacks anyway

You guys may want to check them out

Interesting stuff, didnt think about DRL bulbs. How much were they with the 35% off?

Either way, if these are more white than blue, for $8.99, I'll be satisfied I guess

Either way they are definately better than the halogen look. But the 5k's were whiter in person. Hard to tell with pictures.

They come out to $40 shipped which are def much more than the other ones but produce 725 lumen compared to the 200 the eBay one produces. I just really like the quality of vleds LEDs

What's the difference between the link in post #1 and these ? http://store.ijdmtoy.com/9005-LED-Da...d_sku45_r2.htm

Also will these work if I get the R3 style? - http://store.ijdmtoy.com/LED-Daytime...decoder-01.htm

In all honesty it really doesn't look like there is a difference between the two kits, except the second option doesn't come with the LED bulbs.

Rain in SoCal. Whats wrong with this country.

When I got mine it came with 9005 connectors? or 9006 whichever ones were wrong. I had some spares laying around from some fog kits I had.

I contacted ijdm a while back and let them know their kits were not working plug and play and people were having to cut shit to make them work.

They may have corrected it and came up with a solution. Not sure.

They do have a kit with just wiring and no bulbs like machine said.

If you can take some closer pics or look inside the plugs IIRC they say what size they fit inside by the pins.

Ok, for whoever is interested in buying this kit from ijdmtoy.com they now offer the choice between Ultra Blue and Xenon White bulbs to come with the kit. I just did an install on a fellow members car with the Xenon White bulbs that they offer. Here are two pics that he sent me. Sorry for the cell phone pics, but it is just to give you an idea of how white the bulbs are. IMO they are as white as the bulbs I got from eBay.

ive got to say, after all my complaining about how bad their customer service was when I originally bought the kit, they have definitely redeemed themselves. Thura, a customer service rep over there, has been helping me tremendously, even offering to send me a new kit to take care of the problem. I have to say that they have definitely returned me to being a returning customer.

Just ordered --- http://store.ijdmtoy.com/LED-Daytime...decoder-01.htm ---
but the R3 option for my 08 TL.
Cost was $31.38 after shipping with the 15% discount.

Going to try and pair these up with my VLEDs DRL that I purchased for $39 with the 35% off coupon from last week
---- http://www.vleds.com/bulb-number/drl...-pair-b-o.html -----

$70 for some LED DRL! 725 lumens it better be worth it!!!!

It says february! I hope it's not all the way until march that we get them.. I'm just afraid of them burning out because they will be running at full 12v @ 725 lumens and that's pretty insane for a LED bulb especially for one that will be used nearly all day when you drive until night time.

I've had my ijdmtoy LED DRL's for about a year now, and they changed color after a while. One is now bluer than the other.

i've been waiting since dec 17th for the 5k switchbacks so the end of february would be a miracle!

Received my replacement LED bulb, installed, and they are working fine now. I used the extra connectors with my install. Upside is you have a longer wire for the install, downside is you have more wires in your engine bay.

Just like I predicted the drl LEDs have been pushed back another month by vleds. Now they are saying mid march instead of February....

So I finally got those white bulbs from eBay in, and they are definitely 5K. Not sure if they are quite as bright though. Quick shot of the difference:

You were right. It went from saying "ETA February" to "mid March" and now it's "End of March". Sigh....

Not only that but I checked the website today and look what I see now

http://www.vleds.com/bulb/9000-serie...-pair-b-o.html

850 Lumens for the same price as the 725 Lumens one? They both are expected to be in stock at end of March but the 725 Lumens one has been on the website for several months and haven't been released and here we are a few weeks from "end of March" and they introduce a 850LM LED unit out of the blue with the same ETA as the original 725 LM unit that's been on the website for nearly 3+ months??

yea thanks for pointing that out...i just emailed them to see if they can send me the higher output bulbs since they are both pre-order and the same price. we'll see what they say, but might as well get the higher output right? they also will look better in the housing since you won't see the LEDs from straight on (they have a lens which looks similar to the tritons)

just talked to vleds and they said that anyone that pre-ordered the 6 LED DRL light shown up above will automatically be upgraded to the 10 LED DRL. It's their latest version and they will send out the higher output LED. can't wait!

So we don't have to email them and to request for the newer LED DRL bulbs? They'll automatically ship the 10 LED ones?

Real f'ing pissed right now, ordered the kit for my DRLs last week and 9005 LEd bulbs from iJDMToy Along with H8 LEDs for my fogs. First thing to piss me off was the H8 bulbs didnt fit in the fog light housing, so was working on returning those to iJDMToy for "another bulb that would fit no problem" While asking them the other day about the fog light bulb, I asked if I would have the same problem with the DRL bulb when I go to put that one in, they assured me I wouldnt have that problem again. Well, this afternoon I went about installing the DRL LED kit following their instructions and checking the thread here. I get it all the way installed and the bulbs wont fit, I wiggle the bulbs around a bit and get them to slide in. I turn the car on the test and neither bulb lights up. I then notice I have 2 extra harnesses that were included in my kit, but not in the instructions on their website or on here. I am not sure at this point where they go in the wiring kit, but it doesnt f'ing matter as when I went to remove the bulbs from the housings, they had both busted up and arent fully attached to the plastic backing. What a pain in the arse and unsatisfactory experience with iJDMToy's products and instructions. I will be calling them on Monday requesting a full refund for both bulbs, I dont even want them to send me the other fog bulbs that will "supposedly" fit.....

Sorry to hear this. The bulbs were a pain for me to get installed as well. Mostly just trying to get the tabs lined up correctly and in fully so you can then turn the bulb for it to seat properly. As far as not lighting. Did you make sure the red wire was in line with the black wire? That is the most important connection to make correctly otherwise they won't light. Also if the bulbs weren't fully connected to the harness they won't light either. That's why I had to take those green rubber pieces off for my install because the bulb would not fully mate with the harness.

One member that did this install (Sauceja) did have an issue where the 9005 bulb didn't match the end on the harness, but he fixed the issue himself.

Those extra connectors that come with the kit are not used. I didn't use them in my install nor did I use them on the install I did for another member. I'm not even sure why they are included in the kit, unless they think there is not enough wire provided for the kit to reach from one side to the other so those pieces are more or less extensions if you needed the harness to be longer for it to reach.

Yeah, I double checked the red/black wiring before and after they didn't turn on. I guess I am stuck looking into some ultra white halogens or something. Especially since vleds are all back ordered. Did you get your bulbs from ijdmtoy also? If so do you know the model number they sent you?

When I ordered this kit, they only came with the cool blue 6k bulbs. I bought my 5k LED bulbs from eBay. If you stay with halogens no matter how white a bulb you get, they will still be yellowish since the DRL's operate off less power.

Before sending it back totally I would get them to give you new bulbs first and recheck all the connections and grounds to make sure everything is right. Also check the inline fuse to make sure its good.

Also just curious was the e-brake set? If you have the e-brake pulled and turn the car on the DRL's do not light up until the e-brake is released.

don't give up on LED DRLs! i have the JLC kit and have had no issues once I got mine installed correctly, you may look into that if you can't get what you want from ijdm. Vleds should also be back in stock by the end of the month IIRC

I didnt have the ebrake set, but I am more frustrated with the bulb fitting issues. If I can get an LED bulb to fit, i might give it a shot again, but just cant stand spending +/- $100 (for fogs and drls) and being right back a square one with broken bulbs they probably wont replace....heres hoping to some decent customer service Monday when I call them....
