Also on a side note for anyone that may ask. My double face tape from when I orginally installed these, is holding up just fine.

My tape is also, even though one has been wiggly since day one. My whole drill - tap - screw method didn't work so relying on double sided 3m tape to do the job.
I have had zero problems with this mod since install.

In any event, at least it still is holding fine and you are problem free!

I had intended to use bolts so where I mounted it the whole piece is not flat. There was some overlap. So it wiggles a little.
I have been monitoring it and holding fine.

anyone have any pics of iJDM DRLs with Lamin-X gunsmoke on the headlights? i am concerned that the DRLs will be barely visible with the Lamin-X gunsmoke (12%) on.
thanks!
thanks!

These LED drl's have decent output, but with such dark tint I don't think they will look super bright. You can always try the kit out and if you don't like the output maybe use a lighter shade of tint (if you must have it on there) or take the tint off completely.

I don't even care about the output of these. I just hate the way halogen DRL's look. I laugh everytime I see a newer civic with dull crappy halogen DRL's. I even get glances from BMW and Mercedes drivers when they see my car at the light during the day.

Damn straight! I wasn't so much concerned with having super output either. Since I actually do like the looks of the DRL's on our cars, I more or less wanted a nice clean look to them and not the dull yellow of the halogen bulbs.

My ...
ijdmtoy should link to this thread and youtube video on their website. The provided wiring diagram is laughably simple, and I think anybody doing this kind of install would benefit much more by coming here!

So one of my LEDs has gone bad and it flickers all the time. I figured I'll just grab another pair off ebay so I went with these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-Car-120-L...712675&vxp=mtr
When they arrived I tried to install them but as it turns out, the diameter to the head is too big to fit into the hole for the DRL. I didn't think to measure the bulb as I assumed 9005 should be universal. The measurement on these ones is 2cm, 20mm.
Anyone running bulbs like this and can confirm they'll fit the socket? The listing mentions they're 18mm
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HB3-9005-68-...e42352&vxp=mtr
These look like the ones that used to be included with the Acura kit but looks like they took it down now, most likely since it never worked. Their measurement appears to be 18.6mm in diameter.
http://www.v-leds.com/6K-WHITE-28-LE...-p7652845.html
I know it seems like I may be over thinking this but I don't want to order another pair of bulbs and have them collecting dust in my closet since they don't fit.

You should be fine with any 9005 68 SMD bulbs you buy as they are the same size the kit comes with.
The 120 SMD bubs are probably just a bit too big for the holes because there are more LED lights on the tree making it longer in length and wider in diameter.

guys, i'm installing my lamin-x gunsmoke headlight covers this weekend. anyone have experience with logevity in the CREE DRLs from JLC? http://www.jlclightings.com/9005-CRE.../001125-13.htm
i will probably install those as i've read they're brighter (easier to see behind the Lamin-X 12%) but i'm concerned about the heat output from the CREEs.
thanks - i will post pics when possible.

Also LED's don't really put out any heat. You can hold the bulbs in your hand when they are lit so you're not going to hurt anything on the car.

As a quick update, thought I would show some pics of how my resistors are holding up. One I mounted with double-sided industrial, velcro style tape. Other is just slipped into the area above the fender. Neither has ever moved, the tape held strong throughout the entire hot summer we had here, so I'm pretty sure its never going anywhere.

I have a question for you guys. Do they make H7 3000k LED bulbs for the fog lights? If they do, would the be brighter than the stock 35watt halogen bulbs in there stock? If i went this route, I'd want these bulbs to be effective cutting through fog/rain on the road.

I never knew JLC made a DRL kit. Either one you go with the LED's are probably going to be about the same brightness. I'm not quite sure if you'll be able to use this write up as a guide though because I have never seen their wiring.

Have any Canadian TLers here used the ijdmtoy or JLC harness without any issues? I'm running LED DRLs with a makeshift harness that I wired up, but the DRL light shows up on my dash. I know the DRL/lighting setup is not the same for U.S. spec TLs, so I just want to make sure I'm not purchasing a harness for nothing.

I ran the iJDMToy DRL on my 06 CDN TL with a DRL Light but it didnt bother me.
Was able to get the DRL to go away by adding a second set of resistors but the light output was then greatly decreased.
DRL Light doesn't really bother me but to each their own.
I'm about to install it into my 07 Type-S along with a slew of other LED's as well.

i've had this kit from ijdmtoy installed for a while now with no problems but all of a sudden the passenger bulb was dimming while the car is running. it will start out normal and then dim. this will continue to happen going back and forth from normal and dim.
Please let me know if anyone has any advice on how to solve this issue.

DIY DRL iJDMTOY Kit
Installed my iJDMtoy kit tonight after reviewing your pics, thanks a lot. My kit came with additional connectors (thought hopefully to correct the red to red/red to black connector error, wasn't the case.) and installed in a relatively short period of time. Though, 1 of the LED bulbs didn't work! Decided to uninstalled and roll with the original fogs instead of just 1 working LED. Sending the broken one back, hopefully they send a replacement one quickly.

^^ You're sure it's a bad bulb right? I hope you tested the "working" bulb on the opposite side to make sure it's actually the bulb that is bad and not something else that's faulty.

I dont mean to thread jack, but I too just received a ijdmtoy kit. It came with an extra set of connectors as you mentioned. I Just wanted it see if I need this or if I can install like you guys did.

J_AZ, those connectors in the bag will not be used. Mine also came with 1 extra connector, but it didn't look like that. Since your kit is newer they may have changed what the connectors look like and gave out 2 of them instead of one. You should be good to go.

Hey, anyone besides The Machine switch to a 5000k bulb? I'm looking to do so, but his seller doesn't have it listed anymore and I don't want to order a different one and have it be the same 6000k color as these.

They look very white and are cheap! I would stay with the 68SMD though, no matter what brand you go with. I think, I remember someone saying the 120SMD bulbs were too big to fit inside the DRL housing.

J those connectors look like they go from the black connector on the resistor to the bulbs. It may be the new style ones. As they were shipping with ones that didn't work well.
And KJ I also went with the 5k ebay led bulbs. They aren't much different but match better to what I have.
