I need a shoulder to cry on

So, as I'm driving along 84-W yesterday, crossing into New York from Connecticut, we are in stop and go holiday traffic. Well, I stopped, and the guy behind me didn't. HE HIT MY CAR!!! Yes, I am sad since I only had my car for 3 months. I didn't even name him yet, although I do call the Navigation system "Boyfriend" when he is directing me. Anyway... everyone involved is ok, we just have some stiffness in our necks & back, and may go to the doctor to make sure everything is ok. But my car isn't. He's still in NY but should be traveling by tow truck to MD in the next day or so. Wish me luck as I drive this Aveo for the next month or so.

Is it bad that the first thing I said after being hit is "MY CAR!!!!!"

Enjoy the pictures, and make sure you check out the dent in the hood of the truck that hit me.

Ouch! Sorry to see that happened to your ride. That's a beautiful color. I haven't seen one in that color around where I live. That sucks big time, but it can be fixed. You Can't.

Ohhh...not good! I am very sorry that happened to you. Figures that it was some piece of junk pickup truck that hit you...probably couldn't even tell if that thing was damaged in this accident or another.

I hope the damage is fixed quickly and you can get back to driving the car you love!

The damage done to your TL isnt as bad as mine. Mine was wrecked yesterday...a drunk driver decided to make a left turn right when i was coming into the intersection(with my light green) then BAM...I tboned him and damn near knocked the front right wheel off of the TL! I'm sad to announce that its totalled! (got pics in the photogallery)

I'm glad everyones ok. Dont worry about the car...its just a hunk of metal and plastic pieced together to keep the occupants inside as safe as possible........while still preserving its sexy! LOL

to the OP, It's good to hear that you are ok. Judging from the pictures, thats about 6+K in body damage, that area is designed to crumple to absorb the impact so the occupants are not hurt. The car did it's job. Also that is one serious dent in the car behind you. Also not to be rude, but please tell the dude in the photo to pull his pants up, or get a belt.

Sorry to see and hear of your car. But If I were you that asshole would be getting a notice to be going to court and I would take all he has even that junk truck he has then with him watching I would total his truck right in front of him and tell him no one is going to have to worry about his ass being on the road anymore.

I'm glad to hear that you and your daughter are ok. Your accident looked pretty bad in the pictures.

I see you are staying with Acura. Good luck with the 07 NBP Type S!!!!!

Definitely, that's not that bad of an impact in the grand scheme.

OP, glad you're ok! Someone said it before, things can be fixed or replaced, your life can't! Drive safe up there!

yes it will be fixed

to the OP.... dont worry.. when i first got rear-ended in my 06 TL that was TWO WEEKS OLD... i too screamed, MY CAR!! ive sicne learned, there are things more important than a car....

btw, KBP is awesome... its always some dumb person in an old pick up, or grandma in a 89 Lincoln that rear-ends people. people who dont care about the car, put other peoples lives and automobiles in danger... it pisses me off sometimes...

sorry csmeance... but i gotta disagree... i would say thats leaning more towards $9k+

my rear-ending was $6k, and it didnt look as bad as that

also, looks like your exhaust got smacked up maybe the $700 insurance gives for a new system, gets invested into an aftermarket one... ATLP or Excelerate are your best choices.

^ in most states (well provinces anyways) if the damage from an accident exceeds a certain amount, the car can't be driven until repaired.

I wouldn't mind getting rear-ended like that. I'd just make sure to get the A-spec kit and ATLP exhaust.

I got hit in the left front fender in my last car (Audi A4) and since the other person was 100% at fault, I got to rock a C-Class for two weeks and my car was completely fixed at some ridiculously expensive body ship. They even repaired damage that was already there before and I got a free detail and alignment.

Progressive Insurance FTMFW!!

Glad you're ok. I got hit behind too a little while ago, except it was just a tap, I got out and there wasn't even a scratch on my car or the car that hit me, even thought it made a pretty loud thud when it hit. You were really unlucky, but if you can get it repaired at no cost to you it won't be so bad.

So.... the body shop is estimating $8,500 worth of damages. That's based off the visual inspection. I'm sure the cost will rise once they start actually taking things apart to fix it. They say the car should be ready by 7/31, but I just don't see that happening. If it is fixed by then, where will the meetups be in NY that weekend?

Oh yeah, I didn't tell ya'll, they wouldn't tow the car to Maryland to get fixed. They said it would cost too much to tow it ($1500 - $1700). So, the car is in NY to be fixed. I need someone in NY to go check on it for me! J/K.
