I got an Idea
Through all the BS I've been through with this car....the one thing that still gets under my skin is when I pop out of 1st and wanna get into 2nd fast and I feel the engine n tranny jerk.....even if i keep the rev high and prepared for the next gear it still jerks. Ive been through a few side motor mounts and hate replacing them.... not becuz of abuse but becuz of bad decisions with the suspension...... well the TSX has an engine damper made for it with mount n all.....they dont have one for the TL...nor have I seen anyone mention one for the TL.....I got one and I'm making a bracket for it....does anyone here have any suggestions as to what type of metal I should use? I was thinking either Aluminum or Mild Stainless Steel. Any input is appreciated.
Here is a project that I was pursuing until I found a better project. Here is the info that I have accumalated. It is not exactly what you are doing, but very similiar. Hopefully, at least, the pics on the linked website will be "food for thought".
Innovative Mounts for 1998-2002 Honda Accord V6 (click here)
From my researching (comparing oem part numbers with TL and '02 Accord) and "looking under the hood" of 2nd and 3rd Gen TL, these mounts will work on the 3rd Gen TL IF you replace the engine bracket that bolts to the engine block with the bracket from a 2nd Gen TL. The assumption is that the mounting bolt holes are present in the 3rd Gen to bolt the bracket from the 2nd Gen. From looking, the front mount looks like for sure it will bolt-up. This would be a great starting point to control the engine twisting under loading.
The main point is to call this company. They seem to be VERY WILLING to make custom brackets for a reasonable charge. I talked with them about doing a direct bolt-in for the 3rd Gen TL. They were ready to work with me..... I then found a better project for my TL that I am currently pursueing (unrelated to engine mounts).
Sorry, i got to get to bed. Reply if you want me to be more clear and explain better.

Well this is the thing..... I have a friend who works with plastics and molding.....so I gave him my old broken Motor Mount and had him position it the same way acura positions it and mold it on the inside with different rubbers n plastics I dont know what he used or changed in his chemicals to make it beefier.... I Know honda likes to put liquid in the middle of it and fill the top with rubber.....obviously thats no good cuz they break especially when they get hot or hotter from driving a lot or beating it a lot....so anyway my friend gave it to me and i tried it out....it seemed pretty well until one day im driving and i went over a speed bump in the parking lot and heard it pop like a loud plastic boomcrack typa noise....I said ok no good I see why honda puts liquid and uses softer plastic n rubber. I was thinking of the Ingalls Stiffy (that i won and got from ebay already) and custom making a bracket to mount on top of the bracket that mounts to the motor mount and adapting the stiffy to it. i wouldnt want it to be a lot stiffer because people said you tend to feel the engine vibrations in ur wheel....just a lil bit stiffer so that some of the shock of driving is absorbed by the stiffy so the MM doesnt break or wear out.
Are you sure your not feeling the effects of the CCD (clutch damping device) ? No motor mount is going to cure that. Help perhaps, cure no.
Here is the thread about it. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...clutch+damping
