Question How well is the tan interior on TLS?

well long story originally I want to buy a KBP TL-S but the interior wasn't my combo, I want two tone KBP but I only found KBP with tan interior. I saw two with two tone but I am not gona pay $21k that has 74k miles and the other one goes for $20k has 67k miles which involved in accident twice, nope not happened. I asked you guy to rate the leather quality like wear and tear because I owned three Acura with tan interior (92 Acura Legend, 93 Acura Legend, 00 Acura TL) and yes they are kinda of suck compare with black leather on my 92 Legend LS (it seem the tan leather got rip easier and faster than black leather for some reason even I did the leather treatment every two month in spring and summer) so your input is appreciated.

The tan interior in my tl has held up very well. The previous owner who is a member here took great care of it. Car has about 45k miles.

Ditto. I also have the Taupe/Ebony interior and it's still in immaculate condition. I'm the 2nd owner of the car and when I got the keys to the car, it had 28k miles.

It's "Taupe" not "Tan".

I've got it, it's 5 years old and looks fantastic (imho).

^this, I LOL when I see longtime members still refer it to "tan" when its actually taupe. I want a KBP type-s with taupe, but very rare.

Thank for the input guys before I buy the car I just want to make sure that Taupe leather interior hold up against time, because Honda/Acura are famous for crappy tan leather interior (easy crack and then tear/rip) well my personal experience.

^honestly, its the same honda leather than you have been used to.
if you barely sit in it, it will stay crease free.

but use the car like its intended, and you'll see signs of wear.
just like anything else, in the world

invest in some lexol and be consistent on cleaning and conditioning the leather and you'll be fine.

I have parchment interior on my 04' and I wish I didn't

Its not just the leather but literally everything else. ITs very hard to keep clean. I originally was very set on black interior but my car came at a price I couldn't refuse.

I'm actually thinking about swapping the whole interior to black. But it would be too costly.

The leather in my car was pretty worn but I had 110k miles when I bought it. I know the leather stitching in the 04 had some issues that were fixed in the later years (I'm sure its better in the Type-S). Just saying though.

If you get it with low mileage and its taken care of, just keep taking care of it and you should be ok. I use meguiars cleaning products but I'm sure there's better stuff available if you want to spend the $$

^^^ for all your FYI I do use Meguiars for most product from dash wipe, leather conditioner, soap to wash car to wax and swirl removal. it just happened that I have bad experience with tan color. But I hope Honda fixed the issue and if need to I can buy some black interior and swap them out. Have you ever try looking into ebay or car-part.com for black interior? I am sure that they must have plenty of black interior available for your TL.

i like the tan interior bc it shows contrast inside the car. and from a drivers point of view, it feels like the car has a black interior bc the dash is black and you cant see the tan seat cuz u are sitting on the seat.
