How to? Plasti dip?
Hi guys. I am looking to PLASTI DIP my WHITE 08 accord ROOF. I thought I would ask you guys as I trust this site more than any other for accords. I live in canada where we get HARSH -40 degree celcius winters, and hot plus 45 degreee celcius summers. I am worried that because of the harsh canadian climate that the plasti dip will harm my paint.
I am also wondering what cans to buy, cost, and how to put it on properly? I have a sunroof so I am wondering if I just spray and cut it out after or if I mask and paint? Let me know guys thanks!

Plasti dip works on any kind of surface. There is Plasti Dip kits that can go over the whole entire car.
You need to make sure there is no debris or dirt anywhere on the surface. Do 3-5 coats depending on your liking at 15 minutes between each interval. You will need about 3-4 cans just incase.

PLASTI DIP makes a SMOKE finish that apparently some ppl use for taillights, but it seems that some ppl use the traditional black to taillights as well. How is this stuff transparent? this stuff is amazing and im just learning about it.

Plasti-Dip on your taillights? Are you serious?
Most people, including myself, have used it for emblems, grills, and other small body pieces. The roof is a large area and it'll be hard to get an even coat on it.
Do it right or don't do it at all

In all seriousness, Plastidip CAN be used on body panels such as a roof, but it will probably look like crap and won't have an even texture. Just use vinyl because it is easy to apply to large areas and doesn't take much effort.
Plastidip comes in about 6 colors, one being flat black. I think this is what you are wanting to use. I tried it on my Silver 350Z. Painted a racing stripe on the hood. It didn't come out that hot. I may not have put enough coats on it. But it was splotchy and uneven. I did paint my front lip and it was pretty even. They make a glossified that makes the color glossy. It's doesn't work on the flat black, makes it more of a satin. They do make a product for headlights as well, it's called Smoke. You can read all about Plastidip here:

They also have how-to vids. I plastidipped my rims in flat black and they came out prestine. Hope this helps.

There's a 1st Gen TL (I think) guy that plastidipped his whole car black...it's hard to get an even reflective (or even non if you're going for a matte look) finish with it.
I am on board with suggesting just using the vinyl or leave it alone.

***Especially if there is any kind of adhesive or double sided tape involved in the process.***
^he paid a company to do that.
that company has perfected the spray technique.
I dont think kingkong...err i mean davewhodundun is a professional, and it will come out looking like the 1st gen TL above

OP, every person I've seen try plastidip on their TL's roof has ended up removing it because it's almost impossible to apply it evenly. Even glossy vinyl tends to have cloudy spots that make it look odd. I don't think I've ever seen anyone apply flat black vinly to their roofs. If you want it to look perfect, get your roof painted black by a reputable paint shop. The backup option should be vinyl. The third and last option should be the pastidip route, but I can guarantee you won't be happy with it.
