How much would it cost to repaint my WDP?
#6
WDP is a pearl, so it will likely cost a bit more. It depends on your location, but I would estimate $300-1500 for a bumper respray. If you want a quality job, it should be possible for about $500. Paying more does not ensure quality, but it sure helps. It might be hard to find anyone willing to do it for $250.
I have a quote for a bumper respray on my previous car after someone hit it parked. It was something like $1400, and I DID tell them I was paying cash. Often collision shops will quote high if they know its going on insurance.

cost me ~$7000 to repaint WDP, came out dam perfect though and i wouldnt of had it any other way.
people always think i just bought the car and is really surprise when i tell them its a '07
my buddy did the front bumper for $450 cash. i know its not the rear but close enough?
price depends on where you live too, everything more expensive here in canada

My bill for spray/remove old/mount new rear bumper was almost $400 for NBP.
Typically dealerships will refer you to a body shop… just call them and ask who they use so that you can cut them out and save some money.

like someone said above, they will either tell you to use who they use, or they will take your car and send it too whatever bodyshop they use and charge you more.
The shop i went too were used by Both BMW dealerships in my city, and almost 90% of my local forum recommended them.
remember, you get what you pay for.

It really depends on the condition of the current paint. If the paint is still in decent shape but the clear is faded or has heavy wash marks, then it could just be re-cleared, which should be reasonably cheap.
However, if it needs a full respray, you're easily looking at several thousand dollars, as others said. White Diamond Pearl is a tri-stage paint, which is expensive.

07 WDP TL Type S
When my car got keyed up, I got an insurance check for $3200, with the total damage estimated at $3700. When i got it resprayed, I insisted on not having any pearl put on. i LOVE the color now, and no discoloration/yellow look to it anymore

OP, what is actually wrong with the bumper anyway?

Price will vary depending on which shop you go to. Shop around and check reviews online.

CARBON FIBER WDP TL
I resprayed my own WDP, didnt do too many coats of the pearl because i wanted it different. If i was to charge someone to do almost the same job like I did mine w/out doing the carbon fiber roof, i would charge no more than 3k. If you go to a shop/dealer they will charge more than 5k. Easily. For a rear bumper just to paint I charge 200 for a 3 stage, with install 300. My job would easily charge 500+.

My silver RDX is different of course, but when it was rear-ended, the small gouge in the center of the rear bumper was filled with a plastic welder, and the complete bumper wrap-around was removed, the bad places spot painted, and the entire piece re-cleared. And the quotes I got were:
1. $350 for a local shop which would probably have done an 'adequate' job, and would have been my choice if I were paying
2. $1000 from a shop that repaired only high-end cars like Bentleys, Jags, etc. if I paid direct, even if paying in cash
3. $800 from the same shop in [2] above, when they had to deal with the insurance company of the person who hit my car (so I paid nothing) - very nice job by the way and completely invisible repair in metallic silver, even in bright sun-light. They also put back the rear bumper cover with even & closeer panel seams, better that when I bought it.
