My wife is fairly practical, part of my reasoning to get such a nice car was that I wouldn't be replacing it anytime soon (10 years, her number). We'll see how that works out though, this will be my 3rd acura in 4 years. Financially, probably best i DON'T trade out for awhile. Heh.

I tend to get bored with vehicles so I'm saying 4 years. My wife would rather drive everything into the ground but I usually can beg...err, persuade her into new cars as long as the warranty is up.

one of the main reasons i bought an acura to begin with is it's a car that can last a while so i think i'm in the 10year boat. I've got some friends who have put anywhere between 200 thousand to 300 thousand on they're acuras with no problems so i don't know if i'm necessarily gonna put that many miles but i'd like to keep it more than a few years.

I would say at least 12 years, since the car I have right now is 12 years old and I was the third owner. I figure if I am the first owner and know that I take care of it, it should last me longer than what I currently drive which is a 1992 Legend that gives me no problems. I bought it about 3 years ago and when I saw the new TL I had to have it so its time to give up the Legend. People are so amazed when I tell them its a '92. Still trying to sell it if, so if you know anyone that might be interested please PM me.

the categories for the duration jump too much. from 4-10 years is a big gap. i personally am planning to keep it for 5-6 years and then get a new car after that.

We kept our 2000 TL for 4 years, which is longer than we ever kept a car. We really did like it. Will probably keep the 04 TL for 4 years, but then again, may trade for the new RL AWD.

I voted for 4 years, even though its going to be closer to 5-6 years. I'll probably trade it for something new after I graduate college. Don't want to have a 270hp car when all the new cars will be pushing 400 by then for this class of cars :P

I'm in the "more than 4, less than 10" group as well. I'm trying hard to break my pattern of buying every two years, and the new TL is just the car to do it.

None of your choices describe me.

For me it will be 2-3 years and at that point I'll trade in for the next generation RL - hopefully by then I can get the second year of that car.

Until it is no longer worth driving. My CL is 7 years old and has 180,000 miles on it and just reached that point.

I voted 10 years because my commute is very short (12 miles round trip) so I tend to keep cars a little longer. I got rid of my 94 Accord for the 04TL, so time will tell.

I tend to get bored with cars pretty quick as well... I had my Mustang for less than two years and that is the longest one so far...

Although I do plan to keep the TL for a little longer... I cannot aford to replace my car every two years like I wish I could... probably keep the TL for five years or so... if I keep it past that, it will only be because I bought some sort of fun summer toy

Will keep it 20 years in the family. I'll buy a new one when I'd like one. Then TL can be driven by younger generation in my family.

Hanging on it to for 10 years. It's replacing a 94 Ford Escort so I don't think I'm going to get bored with the TL anytime soon...

LegendChic....that is one AWESOME looking Legend!!! I had a black '04 Legend and I loved that car. You have one of the nicest looking Legend's I've seen in quite a while. I'd keep it as a second car if I were you since it's in great shape. Great looking car!!!!

I've had two hondas in the past and they do real well up through 120K miles or so before they need anything other than normal maintenance. So my answer is 100K. The number of years is not a factor.

Thanks JetJock. I would like to keep it but the extra money from the sale of it would be nice... Wanna buy it ? If I don't get a buyer soon, I might keep it as my "toy/project car", since I don't plan on modifying the TL very much... I guess I could drive it on those days that I miss having exhaust, my baby does sound sweet...

4 years and gone, just like all my other cars. Used to be because I can't live without a car payment. Get the sucker paid off, then trade it. This one, though, only has a 3 year loan so I'll have it paid off for a whole year before it gets traded in!

Choices are too broad for me as well...

I tend to keep my cars for a couple of years after the initial loan is paid off. With that said though, I traded in my 94 grand cherokee for the TL, so I had it for a couple more years than I anticipated. I kept it that long because it was running totally trouble free and it was the most convenient/practical type of car for me given my lifestyle at the time. Unfortunately, the jeep started developing a lot of annoying little problems that started to nickle and dime me to death so it came time to get rid of it.

So, I suspect I'll be keeping my TL for at least 5-7 years.
