How do you drive your TL?
I did drive like a bat out of hell for a little while after the break in period but common sense and fear of Mr. Cop got the better of me shortly thereafter. Plus it killed my gas mileage. But boy was it fun while it lasted. I still open her up once or twice a day on the back roads though. You gotta get your daily recommded does of VTEC you know

If these cars are driven moderately, they will almost last forever. I worked as a fleet mechanic for about 10 years and I saw first-hand the result of hard vs. moderate driving habits. Plus, I got a feel for what will hurt the driveline and what won't. The whole experience left me very unwilling to "abuse" machinery.
I ease off the line and then gradually increase throttle after I'm rolling. The car, with its power, pulls nicely. Approaching a red light I'll take my foot off the gas a half-block away and then ease on the brakes while I can still apply them lightly. Why waste the gas plus wear out the pads? (I know so many people who will maintain cruise speed until they are three car lengths from the stop and than mash on the brakes.) Drives me absolutly nuts! (I once had the brakes on a car fail. Really makes a believer out of you to test your brakes while you still have time to react and hit your back-ups [parking brake, lower gears, etc.])
Where I will push it is when I'm accelerating to enter a fast highway (on-ramp), or to pass on a two-lane road. In my experience, once you'r rolling and the slack is taken up, you can pretty much let it loose without hurting anything. Heavy throttle from a standing stop, however, will royally screw things up over time. It's because the slack gets taken up very suddenly. That's another reason why I simply will not drag race on city streets. Dumb and dumber, IMHO.
Lastly, as for steering, I can enjoy the car's wonderful feel for the road without acting like Mario Andretti. Again, why abuse the car? And what about oil, sand or black ice on the road? What can people be trying to prove by making their tires howl?
It ain't about competition, folks. It's about sharing the road with thousands of other drivers of differing abilities. And it's about being gentle on your steed while still making him work!

consider myself pretty moderate with mine...but if i am on open strech of freeway, I turn down the radio, take a peek at my escort 8500 and take off...
then again, i only have 1,700 miles in two months on her...
