Honda emblems for TL?

I searched and didn't find much info, are there any H's that will fit the TL, the front I would imagine would match with something, but the back has some special curves to it. Has anyone done this? Thanks for any input

How about a nice Powered by VTEC on the windshield, or a Type R decal for the rear?

While you're at it why not just put some Toyota badges on there too.

LOL! My thoughts exactly. I was picturing a giant "Powered by Honda" sticker spilling off the trunk lid onto the right rear fender.

On a lighter note, PLEASE, don't do that to your car. It looks rice... really. It's such a fantastic car, that it would be a great disservice to TL owners everywhere if you were to bastardize the car like that.

It's your car, so do with it what you want.

Personally, I think it would look silly, but it's your call.

Damn dude...sorry you got flamed for just having an idea. Typical. I hate to admit then that I also had the same idea at one time as I did this to my Lexus L-Tuned GS400 and relabeled it....call it rice if you want - but I can tell you for sure I would smoke your ass in that Lexus and leave you wondering what the heck happened....

I relabeled it as a Toyota Aristo, the Japanese version of the GS. I also took the liberty to make up a version V400, as they dont make a V8 in Japan....they only do the 6 cylinder version (GS300/V300). Rice or not....I really like it. Have not seen one like it in my town and always gets a lot of conversation going about the car. Nobody that I have talked to has said anything negative about it (although I guess there is an existing model in Japan so it doesnt really go against the grain that much)

Just yank outward on the tops of the "A". I mean all they did is crush in the tops of the "H" to get the Acura "A"

Why did you not just buy the V6 Accord then?

I guess I still don't get why you want to put Honda badges on your car? I don't "feel" you there?

In my opinion, changing badging on your car is the typical definition of "rice". I'm cool with debadging, but changing badges is not my bag.

....but to each his own I guess.

I guess I did misunderstand your post, but I don't think I misunderstood the post I quoted. What you're describing is far less ricey than I was describing, it still seems weird to me. If done tastefully, though, it probably would go unnoticed anyway.

I'm not the ricer type, I've been modifying imports since 91, and was running 14.7's in my crx in 92.
I thought the straight lines of the H badge would go good with the lines of the TL, I guess I'll keep my thoughts to MYSELF. I didn't know it would turn into a blood bath
Now I could see if I was going to put 22" chromies, super spoiler, clear taillights, powered by "VTEC" headliner, on my TL, I should get FLAMED beyond reconition

Search the junk yards. You should be able to find the Hs pretty easy and pretty cheap. I think you're right about the back though. The curves might Acura specific. Maybe relocate it to a flatter spot on the back. Is the outer circle the same for the Honda and the Acura?? What color do you have? Blacked out Hs on a WDP would be different. When it comes down to it the TL is really an Accord on steriods. More muscles and personality.

Apologies for the flame. I guess I sounded harsher than I meant, especially since I misunderstood your intent. Your further description of the mod is far more agreeable than what I initially pictured. Don't let a bunch of strangers on a chat board scare you out of posting your ideas. Our opinions are worth about as much as the photons they're displayed with. I agree with your last paragraph, though.

It sure is Honda.

I have loved Honda since, well, listen..... It's a damn Honda no matter what anybody says.

Nator, do whatever you feel & I did it on my CL-S6 & I think it looks great (I/M/O by the way).

If anyone has the right to put Honda Emblems on the 3rd gen TL...it would be my TL. I by far have the most Super Riced-out TL! haha.

Bro if you wanna badge it with H's go for it. Its powered by the Honda Mo. Co. J32 powerplant....not the Acura Mo. Co.

Damn... i wasn't here to flame you!! i'm just putting my input in

i just wanted to know why you would want to put an H on a 3rd gen TL...

the point i was trying to get across was...

Acura TSX = Honda Accord
Acura RSX = Honda Integra
1st & 2nd Gen Acura TL = Honda Inspire/Saber

3rd Gen Acura TL = ?

yeah i agree with everyone that all your ideas should be welcomed here and shouldn't be discourged or scared to put them up.....

I mean it's YOUR car if you want to do it GO FOR IT!

I'm must letting you know that it's going to be real hard to try to find H emblems to fit the 3rd gen TLs because there's no JDM equivalent... since the 1st gen inspire/saber is an equivalent to the 1st gen TL i knew there's gotta be an H emblem that would fit EXACTLY to the trunk ... and i did find it... the 2000 Civic shares the same H as the 1st gen Inspires/Sabers

and YEAH i know Acura is POWERED by Honda.....

btw... i rebadged my Acura 2.5TL to a Honda Inspire so yeah i know!!!

Why would you ever do that? Doing so would be total rice. It was fine for second gen TL owners to rebadge their cars as the honda inspire because thats what the car was. This 3rd gen TL is simply an acura TL. It has no JDM counterpart.

How is it rice for 1 car but not for another??

Basically, it's not. It does not have to have a JDM counterpart dude......

It just has to b a Honda!

Since there isn't a JDM equivalent to the TL, wouldn't this be like putting a Ford badge on a Jaguar? After all, the Jaguar is "powered by Ford."

I totally see your point...but fact is...they may as well these days! Jag is far from what it used to be....may as well be a ford.

Yep, it's sad. My uncle had an XJ6 many years ago in which the engine block cracked. They put in a new one and it cracked, too. Finally, they dropped in a Ford engine and it was fine until he was able to finally sell the POS.

I suppose a key difference here is that Acura has always been a brand of Honda, not acquired like Ford did with Jaguar.
